digital illustrations. I have been developing my digital painting skills for some time recently, and in this section I have shown the result of my practice and hard work. These fan arts mostly come

Pan’s Labyrinth is a 2006 Mexican movie directed by
Guillermo del Toro. This poster was done digitally using Adobe
Photoshop CS 6. The poster represents the main creatures in the
story, with Pan with faun holding an orb with Ofelia’s silhouette,
the main character, inside the orb. This represents how the faun
guides and protects her through her journey back to her home in the Underworld. A set of icons next to the poster are also made digitally with Adobe Photoshop CS 6.

SPIRIT ANIMALS
This project was done to illustrate and give explanation to
what spirit animals are, and what each creature represents in Native American’s spiritual beliefs. These beliefs are sacred to them, where
each animals guide different individuals based on what they need
guidance on in life.
The illustrations are done with water color and are retouched using Adobe Photoshop CS 6.

The cover design of the
book represents a wolf covered in bird feathers and intricate piercings. This symbolizes an
old shamanic belief amongst the Native Americans, where each feathers hold different meanings
and spiritual symbolism. Wolf is
one of the most common spirit animal known worldwide, which is
why I illustrated this animal for the main cover design. The illustration was done digitally.

“Some Ki nd of H e a v e n”

“Some Kind of Heaven” is a comic about a boy set in the
early 1800s of London, England. It tells about how the mentally ill were treated back in the earlier days, and how the boy suffered from
the mistreatments from the hospital. He is then taken in by a doctor and adopted him as his own child.

PART 2. Perfume Photography Lasem Field Trip Photography
PHOTOGRAPHY I started doing photography three years ago, and I have come to like the medium of this type of art. I mainly take low key and outdoor photographs.

This photography was done in Photography II class
where we were to take photographs of any perfume brand in low
key or high key lighting. I chose this particular bottle because of its contrasting red color and the shape of its cap. I added several accessories such as a pearl necklace and white and red rose petals for decorative purposes.

I chose to take low key photographs of this product because of its colors and how it matches dark color schemes. I wanted to portray a sensual looking product, which is why I added roses and a necklace that I placed around the bottle. The perfume cap is placed separately in the left photograph.

A black backdrop and a gold reflector was used to create the yellow lighting effect. A black reflective glass board was placed underneath the perfume, which created the reflection below it. Two soft boxes were used in the taking of these photographs.

In 2015 several Binus International University students and
I went on a field trip to Lasem, close to Semarang, to visit several batik workshops. Lasem is well known for its beautiful batik made
by the natives there, and its natural beauty of the environment is not less stunning.

The women who made the batik were mostly middle aged to old women, having doing this craft work all their life. Each batik has its own unique patterns and all of the batik made in Lasem are by hand. Lasem is well known for its Chinese influence in their batik, and dragons are very commonly found in batik patterns made here.

Lasem is a very interesting place to visit as it is very rich in its culture and tradition. It is no wonder the batik there were very well known. I chose to display photographs of close ups of the women working on these batik to give a more intimate feel on how they create and produce those artistic hand crafts.

This catalog was done to promote Museum Serangga of
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) as part of a Graphic Design
II Project. Several merchandises were made such as brochures, postcards, pins and bookmarks. The catalog features the types of insects categorized as pests or pollinators.

The book explains how
pollination works, and what
pollination is. There are then types of pollinators classified according to the subspecies of
the insects. As the main concept is about symbiosis, the catalog focuses more on showing the
relation of insects and plants in the wild life.

The catalog consists of five main chapters: introduction to Museum Serangga TMII, Symbiosis, Pollinators, Pests and Livi ng Together In Nature which showcases available events and conventions that could be held in the Museum or outside the Museum itself.

LO G O D E S I G N
The main idea of the design is to represent the heritage
Indonesia has dating back to the time the Dutch spread their culture in this country. As the Dutch has a very different culture, and have
been in Indonesia for the past three centuries, Indonesian culture also has a major influence from these people, one of the prominent examples being Kota Tua itself. From this, the design of the logo
follows the trademarks of what the Dutch have left in Indonesian cultural sites. The colors used in the design are also colors of spices that were traded in the era of the VOC Company.

CA M P A I G N
The main idea of this design is to show that by farming
income from different kinds of sources related to these orangutans
and their habitats, it would cause major effects to not only the
orangutan but the environment as well. The tagline speaks for itself: “Green looks better out there than in your pockets�. My main
target audience is people whose occupations are related to these matters, and in hopes that this would make them aware of what their occupations caused to these animals and their homes.
