Ode to Dessert Dessert; A sweet sensation. Soft chocolate chip cookies and Moist vanilla cake, Thick buttercream frosting and smooth chocolate syrup, Salty pretzels dipped in Dark chocolate, Soft and spicy gingerbread That hints that Christmas is on its way. Dessert, An indulgence at the end of a meal; Creamy Carmel pudding, That sends a signal of satisfaction through your brain, Cold strawberry ice cream, Topped with nuts, cherries, And chocolate sauce, Chocolate molten cake, With fudge oozing out the center Desert, A fresh sweetness; Fruit tarts and Apple pies, Peach cobbler, With a gram cracker crust Strawberry shortcake Topped with thick whipped cream, Sweet Pumpkin Pie and, Raspberry tarts Dessert, A satisfying delicacy; Sticky Rice Krispy treats glazed with smooth chocolate And coated in m&m's Gooey fudge brownies, With nuts and caramel Soft vanilla snicker doddles and Chocolate fondue, Fluffy meringues that melt in your mouth What is life without indulgences to sweeten it up?

Wintertime The air turns chilly, The flowers begin to close. The winter crispness starts to appear, And you know winter is on its way. The windows frost and icicles form Leaves start to fall, Leaving the trees bare. As you breathe out A fog starts to grow; The grass is frozen still. You step outside and Rush back in Layering coats and slipping on boots. Now the trees are almost bare, Standing in the woods waiting for spring to come around. But no, Winter has just begun. Snow starts to fall and You rush inside. Flake by flake you see the ground rising, With a powdery layer. You sit by the fire and sip hot cocoa, Waiting For your toes to defrost. The snow starts to come down Harder, And harder, Creating a beautiful winter wonderland. The roads are blocked, Yet, powder continues to fall. The highways are icy and The trees are caked, In a dense layer of crystal white dust. No school tomorrow, that for sure
As the snow is lightly coming to an end, You rush to the window and Look outside. An endless white sheet, Covers the region; From tree to tree and every sidewalk. Once again you layer your clothing and Slip on woolen boots. You grab your gloves and a knitted hat; Ready to explore Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch 4ft high, maybe more? A brand new sled is waited, ready to go. You grab your sled and off you go and play, In wintertime
