PONDERING POETRY
The Shadows Dance Some days the world seems shrouded in pain and misery, A forgotten cemetery overgrown with weeds The shadows are everywhere swallowing up the day light leaving only a memory behind. At night the shadows dance beneath the clouded moon, Strange shapes and figures move silently through the streets Pain laughs at the weak and turns its back to the evil The shadows dance. Alley ways are places of pain and mystery Every bit of joy is destroyed even the sun seems to not shine hiding away in the darkened sky The joy of times passed are gone The shadows dance. Maybe a lone beam of sunshine will one day pierce the dark sky Maybe joy and love will one day return Maybe hope will fill the heart of the young dreamer once again But for now The shadows dance. The Lonely Ship A lonely little ship bobs on the waves. The passengers are green with sea sickness as the boat rocks back and forth and back and forth. The wind had blown them off their course you see They are lost and sad the ocean a vast world stretching to the heavens touching the sky and merging with the clouds. The little lonely ship bobs on the waves The passengers are disheveled as they think of solid ground beneath their feet as the boat rocks back and forth back and forth. The storm has blown them off their course you see Lost in waves that block the sun from the eye and fill the heart with such a deep fear that there is no thought of tomorrow. A lonely little ship bobs on the waves The passengers are lonely to missing their families back on land open arms and warm embraces as the boat rocks back and forth and back and forth. The current has pulled them off their course you see It has grabbed ahold of the ship and pulled the lonely ship away, away, pulled it towards promises that never happen and dreams that don't come true

A lonely little ship bobs on the waves The passengers are giving up. Folding in on themselves and releasing their hopes their dreams Reality has pulled them off their course you see The little lonely ship will soon let go when they hear the long awaited words LAND HO!
I’m Hungry
Lunch time nears my tummy grumbles! Deep below I hear a rumble… I run down to the kitchen door, Push it open and eat but I need more! I eat great green grapes, purple pitted plums I need more yum oh yum. A rainbow of food meets my greedy eyes Not one thing here that I despise! Blue, blue berries, pink peachy plums, and lemony lime lemons Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, asparagus and big ballooning melons. Warm buttery chocolate and cherry pie You know what I love about food? It doesn’t lie I cram my face and scramble for more My pile of food flows out the door! Burning hot grilled cheese sandwiches fried in butter More, more, more I quietly mutter Huge hallipinos make my mouth water and sweet sugary strawberries Black berries, blue berries, frazzle berries and berry berries I eat and I eat no ending in sight I eat and I eat well into the night. The moon lights the room as I eat buttery chicken, creamy cakes, luscious lemon pie I eat and I eat my oh my Food is good food is great
I check the time wow it’s late! Sleep consumes me and I lay down to sleep Not a sound comes out not a peep. I awake to hear a sound MY stomach rumbles and shakes the ground It's almost time for breakfast to come around.
