Freezing

In Love with the Ice There was a little girl that fell in love with figure skating. She spent weeks thinking about how it would feel to jump and twirl through the cold, crisp air. She started out practicing once a week but that tripled within the next month. There were many hours that went by and also 17 levels. She had passed preliminary through senior levels. Before she knew it she was traveling the world, while competing. There were walls dedicated to her medals, bookshelves full of music and closets full of dresses. She would get up before dawn to practice and go after school to squeeze in an extra two hours. She landed her doubles and then triples at regionals in Atlanta. Before Every single performance she remembered one thingUnderneath all the makeup and the costume, was a little girl that fell in love with the ice.

Better in the fall. The leaves start to fall, And the bonfires get bigger. The days get colder, And the UGG boots get worn out. The pumpkins get carved, And the candy gets passed out. The pumpkin spice lattes get stronger, And the leaf piles get larger. The turkeys get roasted, And the jackets get pulled out. The blankets get piled up, And everything is better in the fall.

I wish I was six again. I wish I was six again, Dressing up as Cinderella and running around the house. I wish I was six again, Being so excited for Santa Clause to come. I wish I was six again, Not having to worry about all the drama. I wish I was six again, Not caring what I looked like. I wish I was six again, Not having to go crazy over grades. I wish I was six again, Playing with dolls and stuffed animals. I wish I was six again, When words didn’t mean as much as they do now. I wish I was six again, When society didn’t affect me. I wish I was six again, When it didn’t matter if I wore a shirt two times in one week. Oh how much I wish I was six again, So I don’t have to stress about growing up.
