Emerald Soul Luke H.
Underwater The blue blanket that covers the sea,
I watch my life flash before my eyes,
Is now tightly holding on to me.
Knowing that this is goodbye.
I bob up and down gasping for breath,
I go up for one last look,
Not knowing if this is life or death,
Before I finish the end of my life book.
The silence is roaring,
I suck in my last breath of air,
I see the seagulls soaring,
Before succumbing to my neverending despair,
The fear is so great, It is too much for me to take. I can't seem to cry, As I watch the rainbow fish swim by.
I close my eyes and ask for forgiveness, Before I sink into the dark and endless pit of nothingness.
Night-Time Walking in the night,
Suddenly,
Is like swimming through a black ocean.
Crack! The sound of bone against brick.
The crickets roar,
You walk into a brick wall,
Mocking you as you wade through the ocean.
All you see is red.
The occasional rustling bush, Is enough to make you go insane. The tall grass,
The excruciating pain of your cracked skull Is overcome with hope,
Tickling your legs.
When you see a sliver of light shining through the trees!
Then all is quiet.
I made it to the morning!
You hear your heart pounding.
Barely‌
You feel the blood coursing through your body.
Alone I illuminate the night, With my omnipresent light. I provide comfort and love, For those below and above. I'm surrounded by other stars, The spread from hear all the way to mars. Some are close, some are far, But they all have given me a scar. They laugh and point,
Which feels like I'm being held at gunpoint. They don't seem to notice me. They leave me out, when they play with glee. I try not to show it, But it hurts, and they know it. Yet on and on and on they play. And hear alone I sit and stay.
