La Llorona
ONCE upon time, in a small town, there lived the most beautiful woman...
This beautiful woman was very popular with men and enjoyed their company. She LOVED how men would give her attention. The men in the small town would ask her out on many dates, buy her gifts and shower her with flowers. The beautiful woman especially liked one wealthy man from the small town. she LOVED him very much and wanted to spend all her time with him.
2
But she couldn’t go out with him as much as she would LIKE because she had two small children. Any dates had to involve her children. She had no one to stay home with them.
One night she had a date with her wealthy man, but he didn’t COME to see her...
or the next night
or the next night
or the next night 3
One night she took her children for a walk along the river. Her children were standing near the bank of the river watching the fish swimming around in the water, some JUMPING out of the water.
4
She LOOKED over to the bridge and saw the wealthy man with another woman...
....standing very close, kissing.
She confronted him asked,”Who is this? Why haven’t you come to SEE me?”
5
He told her that he couldn’t DATE a woman with children.
He needed to have freedom to do what he wanted and be able to come and GO without worrying about little kids.
but I LOVE you I NEED you! I want to be with only you
He told her he never really LOVED her, doesn’t want to see her anymore and he walked back to his other woman.
She began to CRY and said that she would do anything to be with him. He told her to leave him ALONE and not to talk to him again.
7
The beautiful woman became UPSET, yelled at the man. 8
She walked back to where her children were STANDING on the bank and watched the man and woman be together.
9
She became ANGRY and SAD about how her life is going that she did something unimaginable.
She THREW her children into the river.
Her children began to SCREAM and cry for help.
10
When she realized what she had done she YELLED out for them...
...but her children had gotten caught in a river current. It was too late. The river TOOK her children downstream.
She had LOST her children in a moment of anger.
11
She began to CRY. The most beautiful woman in the small town couldn’t stop crying. She was so broken-hearted and distraught over what she had done that she later died from her sadness. Sometime after her death, people started to claim that they could HEAR a woman crying along the river bank. .
12
It was a SAD CRY that seemed to never stop. People have said that they have seen the woman walking along the river bank, crying looking for her children in the river. The towns people began calling herLa LLorona. The most beautiful woman became a ghost that is doomed to haunt the river banks searching for her children.
13
La Llorona is often heard along the river but some say if you try to approach her she SCREAMS so frightening that is can turn your hair white. So if you are ever near the river and hear or see a figure crying, it just might be...
... La Llorona
