My project is to improve the development of children aged 5 to 10 years old and encourage interaction in an outdoor play area through informal learning with an emphasis on play. The design includes an installation and playground system which encourages children who are not used to playing with such apparatus to participate. This product therefore encourages children to play a pinball game which requires team cooperation and the development of ability to balance. By interacting with peers, they experience team-work which can cultivate the skill of negotiation and cooperation. Through participating in such group activities, children build up their self-esteem, confidence and are given the opportunity to develop trust relationships with peers.
