Internet Inquirer Windows 11 vs Windows 10 After almost 6 years since the release of Windows 10, the new Windows 11 is finally here, and will be released soon! Everyone is excited for the new version of Windows. Some are asking, is there a difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11? If so, what are they? Is the change any use to us?
According to the Microsoft’s CEO, there will be new additions such as a new Windows Snap feature, Direct Storage API optimization, improvements to Microsoft Teams, Viva and Fluid. The Microsoft Edge has also been improved to bring a fresh look. Unlike the Windows 10, which has several extra applications, Windows 11 will be removing those extras. There will also be a nice gift to gamers, as there will be more FPS compared to the previous Windows. Photo Courtesy: How-To Geek The Windows 10, which is more colorful, will be replaced by a darker background and a less colorful style, which makes it less messy to others. It gives a minimalistic look, according to the previews. Compared to the Action Center of Windows 10 which occupies the right side of the screen, Windows 11’s Action Center is a lot smaller. It reduces the visual clutter. The usual start menu, which is on the bottom right corner, is now expected to be on the center. Moving it to the usual place is also allowed. People are also expecting for an improved window snapping. Photo Courtesy: RedmonMag.com
Apparently, there will also be a special widget, called News and Interests. A new widget is also expected to appear, though it is not clear what it is. The widgets are also able to be deactivated any time, unlike Windows 10. Another difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11 is how the Android apps are accessed. While it can be accessed on the older version, it will be easier on the latest version. There are also speculations that there will be 2 different versions for Windows 11, the two based on different things. One will be based on Windows Cobalt. On the other hand, another will be based on Vibranium codebase.
All these news about Windows 11 is exciting everyone. While it is not sure whether or not people will be more satisfied with the latest version rather than Windows 11, everyone is putting high expectations. Now, will you be upgrading your Windows 10 to Windows 11?
Internet Inquirer ` ` Hello, Online Stranger ` ` “Don’t talk to strangers,” parents would say. “Don’t share private information to people you don’t know,” they would add. But do children listen to them? Do children apply them not just personally, but also online? Almost everyone has talked to someone they aren’t familiar with online. Omegle, Discord, Twitter – the list goes on and increases, and so does the amount of danger people encounter. Even creating fake names doesn’t help a lot. Now, one might ask, how could we say that the internet is dangerous? It’s simple, really. Take a look at the news. The charts and data of teenagers who experience a lot of things on the internet. It’s not limited to cyberbullying, and it includes befriending the wrong people. Some doesn’t even make contact with others, but still end up being a victim.
When you’re online, you might feel like everything is new. Endless. Anonymous. But that’s not true – while you might be anonymous to some people, to hackers, you’re not. A few clicks, and there they have it, your personal information. Information that may potentially endanger you and your family. Cyberbullying and online sexual predators are a few of the many dangers of the internet. Everyone is aware of cyberbullying; it’s bullying that happens online. There are many cases of it happening, and while the awareness is spreading, there’s no way to stop it completely. There are even seminars given to children, which is thought to be able to help lessen the victims. Online sexual predators are more common nowadays, especially because of quarantine. Sexual predators lure someone into meeting up with them to take advantage of the person, or ask someone to send inappropriate pictures. There is also a possibility that the predator will befriend the person, “grooming” them and then asking them to do something; may it be meeting up or sending pictures. According to a victim, the predator had blackmailed them to continue what they were doing and not tell someone because they had pictures.
If you make a friend online, make sure to inform someone you trust in real life. If you feel like they’re suspicious, try to avoid them. If they start to pressure you, stop talking to them immediately. Inform a trusted adult, and if they seem to have bad intentions, talk to a police officer. While not every person on the internet is dangerous, it doesn’t hurt to be careful. If you want to talk to someone, it might be better to talk to your family and friends. If you do end up talking to a stranger online, however, ensure that your personal information is not revealed. Victims don’t ask to be victimized. If you want to avoid being a victim, take care to not share things excessively.
Internet Inquirer Open the Blinded: Stop Asian Racism
Asian hate is the main issue in America because some evidence suggests that the past year’s surge was driven by racist reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Asian Americans were suffering from racism in America and even getting murdered by people in America and we hope one day the Asian Hate problem will be stop on one day so they will live in peaceful life. One of the students from Marisci experienced that when he went into America in Las Vegas airport, he was stopped for no reason. Apparently, his family were not been stop by them and they [police] asked him if he had any weapons carrying around yet he is just a child. Afterwards, his family was shocked as well however, according to him, he was fine a few minutes later. Then, they let him be and he still couldn’t believe that they did this to him. In his stand, he thinks it might be a racist motive that they did to him. And, because of that, we strongly believe that the COVID-19 pandemic, which was first reported in the city of Wuhan, China, has led to an increased amount of racism against Asians and Asian Americans. It is indeed sad and disappointing to find out that one of the students from Marisci experienced this. The incident is already sad enough, however, that’s not the only one of the Anti-Asian hate incidents. There are way more Anti-Asian hate incidents that happened in the first year of the pandemic. These incidents happen due to COVID-19 or Corona Virus hate against Asians and it has increased about 68.1 percent and 20.5 percent. More people would say to other Asian-Americans that they should go backs to where they came from, calling the virus the Chinese virus and even beating up, assaulting Asians in broad daylight. Upon further research, an analysis was released by the Center of Study and Hate Extremism. Based on the report, the hate crimes increased by 149 percent in 2020, more than doubled from the previous year, increasing from 49 to 122. Another part of the analysis showed a surge of hate crime in cities such as New York, Boston and Los Angeles. New York was reported to have an increase of 833 percent, while Boston and Los Angeles rose from respectively 6 to 14 and 7 to 15. The results of the report are incredibly saddening and maddening, as it showed the unjust treatment that lots of Asians go through. But even the days before the pandemic, Anti-Asian Racism was still a common thing and hate-crimes against Asians would happen [possibly] regularly. Now, it still continues to rise even during the pandemic. What’s even sadder is that the Ex-President Donald Trump also hates Asian Americans and even make racial slurs at them and in return, he incited violence against the Asians.
And because of that, a lot of Asians in America are protesting to Stop Asian Hate and any kinds of racism, judgmental, abuse, killing to them just like with the Black Lives Matter incidents. For everyone out there, we should not do anything bad or teach anything wrong to anyone and even children because they will learn what the things you have taught them like hurting people, racism, stealing and especially, hating on someone for something that they didn’t mean it, which may result to physical assaults. Let’s show some love to each other, teach them how to love people and in result, we will show equity to one another. Equality isn’t what we need but the equity and justice. Justice and equity for all of us because no matter who we are, we are still the same. We all have hearts, minds and souls; therefore, we deserve to be treated well as the others, just like what Confucius said which is the golden rule. Now, we hope in the future, racism is not a thing anymore. This has gone for way too long and we need to put an end to this. It gives injustice, fear and inequality to all Asians, Hispanics and Black Americans. And one day, it will be all okay.
Internet Inquirer JOURNALISTS' OPINIONS For future cops, please be a good one and serve the people in the country, not those that have power. - CHLOE DALANON
" One is Different from Another "
In the past few years, cops have been the major topic and headline of newspapers because of various crimes committed by some. Murder, rape, drugs and even robbery, unbelievable, isn’t it? Despite that news, there are still headlines that shows that there is still good in other cops. Are they all the same? Is it still safe to trust them? An issue that became trending was the Tarlac shooting on December 20, 2020 which took the life of Sonia and Frank Anthony Gregorio. The shooting was said to be caused by an improvised noise maker which is locally called as “boga”. Year 2016, the gun muzzling tradition was stopped by thenPNP chief Ronald dela Rosa and was later on supported by the president and the PNP chief that time because he said that they are disciplinedf body text
Another is the brutality experienced by those alleged drug users like Kian Loyd delos Santos, Joshua Cumilang, Carl Arnaiz and those who were affected because of the operations like 4-year-old Althea Barbon. The huge amount of kids dying is not surprising for the President himself classified children killed in his drug war as “collateral damage” in an interview with Al Jazeera on October 2016. Some might think that all cops are the same because of these but I personally think that there are still those that has pure hearts and still intends to help and serve the people. They might be rare but they exist. We should not be generalizing them just by knowing a few examples.
Officers sacrifice their lives to make sure that we don’t get the virus. Various small acts of kindness are shown on the news everyday about cops giving money or help to other people who needs it. When donations were arriving for the flood victims, they help in contributing it while assuring that each receiver is still safe. . I also experienced being helped by cops for a blackmailing issue back then which made me believe that there are still good cops. These are just some of the things that some of them are still doing to serve us.
Don’t you think it is ironic that we are in a modern time where we can easily get information right where and when we want to but we tend to generalize them because of some things that were done by some? Shouldn’t we have faith that humanity is still there? Aside from judging each other and fighting with one another, we can help in controlling the spread of police officers that their personal benefits prioritized over serving the country. Laws intended for those committing crimes should be implemented properly and no one should be an exception. Punishments for officers committing crimes should be as heavy as those normal people doing the same. Higher ranking officials should not be siding with them and justifying their actions just to keep the image of their group. If a cop knows that the consequences of his actions will be dealt with accordingly, they will realize that they should be doing what they promised to do when they took the oath. Our government and the officials in it are the ones making orders and laws. We can start changing our system by voting trustworthy and selfless leaders. We should keep in mind that the future of the younger generations is in our hands and we should vote wisely especially now that the elections are coming. If we are sure that there are less corrupt people in there, we can expect a lower rate for crimes committed by those with power. I believe that not all cops are bastards. They might be influenced after having a position but no one is born a bastard. If they can change to a bad cop then they can surely change to a good one. Instead of bashing and judging everyone in that field, we can suggest ways on how to change them after all, we are in a democratic country and we can freely give opinions and suggestions for a better country and life.
Internet Inquirer JOURNALISTS' OPINIONS Humans have the freedom to express themselves – everyone knows that. CAMILLE CUPALAO
" Bad Opinions? Never Heard of Them " We are entitled to our own opinions, and are taught to respect others’. However, despite this, not everyone gets along due to their differences; not only in their interests but also in their opinions. It can lead to people using other ways, such as social media, to express their thoughts and ideas. Once that happens, the poster will get a reaction – a good one or a bad one. There is no such thing as a bad opinion, but it does not mean that all of them are good either. Say something that could be considered rude as your opinion, such as “LGBT Community does not deserve rights.”, and expect thousands – or maybe millions – of people to hate you. There will be people who will agree, of course, but does that matter when there are lots of threats against you? Opinions are usually created from the environment one is in. For example, if someone grows up in a household that’s against the government, the child will most likely end up hating the government, too. Though, if they get exposed to something that goes against their beliefs and opinions, they will either question their own opinions or go against the other one. Unlike convictions, opinions can be changed. If someone faces a proof that their opinion is wrong, the person will most likely change it. It can be not immediate, the person can explore the other idea, and see if it is “better” than theirs. Though, that is not always the case.
People does not always change their opinions despite the proof presented to them. Sometimes, they even go against the law just to prove that their opinion is “right”. Even if they are ridiculed, their pride almost always does not allow one to give up. Some prefers to be hated than to be proven wrong and be forced to admit it. Opinions are not always the right thing. Every belief creates a little disagreement. Everyone knows that, so why do we hate it when people disagree with us? Lots of people have superiority complex, or they are powerful enough that no one would dare to say something against them. There are also people who were raised to be “perfect”, thus unused to others disagreeing with them. People who strongly believe in their opinions exist, too, and all of those can cause an argument. It could be small, but it could turn into something big. While debates are important to share opinions and thoughts, it is not made to have others fight just because both sides refuse to back down. An opinion is not supposed to be something that causes a discord. It is a changeable thing, a belief, and can also be without basis. It could be a way to share thoughts and knowledge, but people refuse to see it that way. Opinions can cause friendships, but can also cause rivalry.
While it can indeed cause something, no right or wrong opinion exists, and there are no good or bad opinions either. An opinion is based on the personality, environment, and thinking of a person. For example, the opinion of a religious person and the opinion of someone without a religion differs. We might point at someone and say, “That’s such a bad opinion!” but that’s because we do not understand them or the way they think. They might have been raised differently, which causes a unique way of thinking. A different way of thinking causes a different opinion from others.
A ‘bad opinion’, for others, might be things like “Gay people doesn’t deserve rights!” or “The government doesn’t care for the citizens and only themselves!”, but those with opinions like that must have been raised in a conservative, government-supporter and religious household. For them, it is correct. That’s how most of the people they know must think, so why should they have a different idea? Their actions and thoughts are completely justifiable and correct to them. To others, however, it is not. We must try to understand how they had that opinion. Understanding, however, does not mean we can excuse it if they had done something wrong because of their beliefs. If someone kills an Asian because they believed Asians are criminals, while we can try to understand what they went through, it does not excuse their actions. We must learn that while there are indeed no bad opinions, it does not mean that if they committed something wrong, it is not okay.
State our opinions and let people judge them. As long as we don’t do something wrong because of it, we should have no fear. An opinion is to be respected, as it is our right and we have the freedom to express it. Even if we have different opinions, no bad opinions exist, neither does good, correct nor wrong opinions.
Internet Inquirer The Sun and Corona-Virus; Facts-checking and Myth Busting There were many opposing claims that the sunlight can either kill corona-virus or increase the coronavirus’s rate and strength. However, none of these claims don’t really have any evidence nor did any scientist prove it yet. In this article, it will be about fact-checking and nonetheless, starting off with the first myth, cold weather and snow affect the coronavirus. This is confirmed false because according to World Health Organization, cold weather cannot kill the new coronavirus or any diseases as there is no such evidence. Same goes for hot areas and exposure to sunlight. These claims are not proven with evidence yet. And also, to add things up about the weather or temperatures, it does not matter to the corona-virus. When the corona virus is in a place, it lingers around in that place and sooner, it would spread or just disappear. If this is not enough proof yet to wake others up, there’s a fact based on the World Health Organization that the corona virus can spread in hot and humid climates. And for more evidence, staying under the sun or exposing yourself to the sun actually does not protect you from the virus. Instead, staying under the sun or exposing to the sun for a prolonged period will lead to skin damage or worse, skin cancer because of its UV light [UVA and UVB]. It’s better to be safe than testing out these claims during the coronavirus pandemic.
There are so many other claims that contain of false information. A true fact is that most of these false claims are easily spread and many people believe in these “factual” claims. However, one in particular was so controversial yet there are some falling for this kind of claim.
“Since sunlight can kill the corona virus, wearing sunblock is a bad idea during the corona virus pandemic. “ To start off, first of all, there is no proof that sunlight can actually kill the corona virus. And if it is true, then how come the corona virus is still existing or when many reported cases of corona virus came from hot climates? It is true that only 50% of the sun’s heat came to Earth which it doesn’t immediately demolish the virus yet why are the corona virus cases still rising? Secondly, even if the sunlight can potentially kill the corona virus, it will still not end well. Upon further research, scientists did use a lamp that emits only UVB rays. Then they used this on a corona virus sample. It is said that the corona virus sample was destroyed in less than 20 minutes. That may sound good news for us humans to go and demolish corona virus but remember UV is still UV. Ultraviolet rays can still harm us such as sunburns, skin cancers and skin damage. And also, it may be difficult to get UV light because of how these can harm us painfully and the sun’s rays [UVA, UVB and UVC] won’t be able to even get into earth due to the ozone layer. A lot rays have been absorbed by the ozone layer, mostly the UVC rays and some of the UVB rays. 95 percent of the UVA rays reach Earth. Also, another confirmation that the UVA or UVB light are still not a match to the various corona viruses (Indian Virus, Lineage B. 1. 1. 7, etc.) because viruses can get stronger and may spread faster. And, it is risky to use UVA/UVB light since these can damage our skins when exposed to it for a long period. And it is always important to cover yourself with sunscreen. Sunscreens protect us from the strong radiation of the UV lights which keeps us safe. So don’t assume or jump into conclusions that if sunlight can kill the corona virus, it is a bad idea to wear sunscreen/sunblock. So, in conclusion, this claim is false and it is better to stay safe than to be exposed in sunlight just to ‘get rid of the corona virus’ when in reality, it does not matter. The corona virus spreads whenever; it does not mind about the weather, the climate or the exposure to sunlight.
