OUR SERVICES CONSTRUCTION HEALTH, SAFETY AND WASTE MANAGEMENT CDM Coordinator Services calfordseaden health & safety has been providing this service since the inception of the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations as far back as 1995. As CDM Coordinator, our holistic approach, to managing health and safety on construction projects, coupled with the experience and knowledge acquired over the years provides us with the competence and flexibility required to meet the challenges of current and future construction projects. With a team of experienced health and safety consultants, with varied construction backgrounds and members of relevant professional intuitions, the services we offer comply with current health and safety legislation. To assist our Clients comply with their obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 and the Site Waste Management Regulations 2008 respectively we provide optional services, which include the following: Site Waste Management Plans Site Safety Inspections Site Safety Audits Our approach to service delivery on projects, in effect makes calfordseaden health & safety a “one-stop” shop for construction health and safety services.

Site Waste Management Plans Under the Site Waste Management Plans Regulations 2008, any Client who intends to carry out a project on a construction site with an estimated cost greater than £300,000 (excluding VAT) must prepare a Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) conforming to the regulations before construction work begins. The SWMP needs to be written at the construction design stage, but it is a requirement of the SWMP Regulations to maintain it during the entire project. Therefore, the Client (or principal contractor) is also responsible for updating the Plan with the site's day-to-day activity. For projects with a construction cost greater than £300,000 or below £500,000, equals to or above £500,000, the regulations place specific requirements on the quality of information to be provided when updating the SWMP. calfordseaden health & safety is able to work closely with the Client, the project design team and the principal contractor to ensure a suitable SWMP is produced and maintained for the project duration. To facilitate this process all commissions are run on a dedicated web-based portal.

FIRE RISK MANAGEMENT Site Safety Inspections Active monitoring of the implementation of health and safety systems and procedures is essential for an organisation to maintain a high standard of health and safety in the workplace. It measures performance and provides valuable feedback to Clients, which may prevent accidents or dangerous occurrences. Regular safety inspections serve as a tool to achieve this objective. We offer site safety inspections, including offering advice and guidance, to ensure our Clients comply with current health and safety legislation. Site Safety Audits Regular site safety audits are essential to continuous improvement and the management of health and safety systems and procedures. We offer site safety audits, including offering advice and guidance, to ensure our Clients adhere to current health and safety legislation. We provide constructive feedback from audits to ensure our Clients can maintain high health and safety standards.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO 2005) came into force on 01 October 2006, replacing most existing general fire safety legislation in England and Wales. The FSO 2005 deals with fire precautions and other fire duties required to protect people in the event of a fire and covers all non-domestic premises. This includes offices, shops, residential care homes, theatres, hotels and other sleeping accommodation, educational premises and the like. We offer Fire Risk Assessments and provide comprehensive advice and a robust service to our Clients to enable them to satisfy the requirements of current fire safety legislation.

TRAINING Adequate and relevant training demonstrates competence and is key to the successful implementation of a health and safety policy within an organisation. We offer a wide range of training on health and safety matters, including bespoke training programmes and ‘in-house’ seminars to senior management and staff.
