Use your quilting skills to make a difference in the lives of others, right here, in your community. Get together with those who enjoy quilting and create quilts for people in need. Our first HUGS project will provide baby quilts to Joseph’s House. Class fee includes lunch and pattern for the project. Pick up your pattern early and join the group with everything cut and ready to sew. Have fun and give back! Fee: $10

Crazy Patch on your embroidery machine with Nina Dukette Tuesday, July 19 12:30 - 5:00 pm Using your embroidery machine for crazy quilting is so cool!. If your embroidery machine has at least a 5 x 7” field, you can create this fun crazy patch project. Any brand machine welcome in this class. Fee: $20
“Which Way” Quilt-as-you-Go Table Topper with Patti Blanchard Thursday, August 18 5:30 – 8:00 pm Fun and easy project with cute prairie points in the design! This is a quilt-asyou-go pattern that starts with a charm pack and works up quickly. Fee: $25

Tuffet! with Lisa Wennberg 1 Saturday, July 2 10:00 am - 4:00 pm or 2 Thursdays July 21 & August 4 5:30 – 8:30 pm The tuffet craze is sweeping the quilting world! How fun to use our quilting skills to make something extraordinary! Learn to use a 15 degree ruler to cut your wedges. Then assemble those wedges into a cylindrical shape and create the cover for this adorable tuffet. Work right along and go home with a complete piece of furniture! Fee: $40
Calico Gals is open for the summer! The only days closed this summer are July 3-4 and Sept 4-5 Hand Embroidery 101 with Gay Silkey Wednesday, August 10 5:30 - 8:00 pm Gay has been stitching since she was a small child. Join her in this class and leave with the confidence to stitch numerous embroidery patterns. Perfect class for anyone who has never embroidered or anyone needing to refresh their skills. Class covers basic knowledge of thread, needles and stitches. Learn three classic stitches that you’ll use in all your embroidery projects. Pick up a class kit with everything you need to complete a beautiful lavender sachet. Fee: $25
Beyond the Hexie! English Paper Piecing Clamshells with Marcia Evans Wednesday Aug. 31 & Sept. 28 2:00 – 4:30 or 5:00 – 7:30 pm Are you ready to move beyond hexagons in your English Paper Piecing? Be adventurous and explore new shapes including this very fun clamshell shape. Choose a wallhanging or adorable coin purse project. No machine needed - this is all handwork. Fee: $20
Woven Table Runner Tumbling Blocks or Stars with Lisa Wennberg Mon. August 1 & 8 5:30 – 8:30 pm or Saturday August 20 10:00 am – 4:00 pm It’s like magic! Watch the tumbling blocks appear as you weave together light, medium and dark tubes of fabric. Or, if you prefer, pick two fabrics and create a star pattern. Easy, looks great, completely reversible, and no inset seams! Most students finish the entire woven part in class. Fast workers are welcome to bring a sewing machine to class to do the final finishing or leave with weaving complete and finish up at home. Fee: $40

Summer Clubs! Cozy Christmas Sew Along
NEW Bento Box Swap with Lynn Schantz First swap blocks due July 1 Join the swap and use up your batik scraps! Create 5 blocks a month for 6 months, bring them in by the 1st and Lynn will swap them out by the 15th. Join Lynn on Sunday May 1, noon - 3:00 pm, for a Bento Box lunch and demo to get started on your blocks. $15 to join the swap includes the Bento Box pattern and the lunch demo class!
Add a Quarter Club for foundation piecers! with Julie Burger Noon - 4 pm Tuesday July 5 or Thursday August 4 or Tuesday September 6 Foundation Piecers! Have you ever started a project you love and then another pops up, and another, and another? By now you may need a little support to get back to it! Julie has help for you! Come on in, bring your paper piecing projects to work on, share and chat with other piecers and just have fun. Stop in one time or every month. Fee: $10.00 per month.
Storytellers Sew-In with Marcia Evans Saturday July 9 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
A fun time to get caught up, or assemble your beautiful Storytellers quilt top. Spend the day sewing with the other Storyteller BOM members and Marcia. Fee: $10
with Marcia Evans Lori Holt’s online “sew-along” has the Calico Gals sewing along too! Join Marcia and stitch up the Cozy Christmas blocks. Stitching together with friends is always more fun! Simple What Nots Club with Marcia Evans One Tuesday each month: July 12, August 9, September 13 10 am - noon So you don't have time for a 6 month club? You spoke, we listened! All of the Kim Diehl projects can now be done on a month to month basis. Choose any month that tickles your fancy! Each mini quilt includes all fabrics, pattern and a 2 hour class with Marcia. All this for just $40.00! If you love the kit but just can't squeeze in the 2 hour class, stop in and check out the options for pick up and take out.

New Age Sew-In with Marilyn Sees Saturday July 16 10:30 am – 3:00 pm
Special sewing day just for those working on the New Age Block of the Month. Bring your blocks and a dish to pass. Spend the day sewing and get caught up! Fee: $10
We still have a few openings for this BOM! Join “A New Age” and create a wonderful quilt, one block at a time, throughout the year of 2016. Each monthly kit includes the pattern and fabric to make one block. Month one includes background fabric for all 12 months. $10 per month began February 1 - but you can catch up! $40 registration fee includes month one and the finishing kit of pattern and fabric for the outer borders (received with month 12).

with Julie Burger Wed. Aug. 29 1:00 – 4:00 or 5:00 – 8:00 pm Judy Niemeyer projects are all the rage in the quilting world. We are happy to have Julie Burger at Calico Gals to teach this fantastic foundationpiecing technique. This class is the perfect place to start if you would like to try out a simple Judy Niemeyer project. One Charm Elements paper pack will give you enough papers for four placemats. Fee: $25
T-Shirt Quilts with Gay Silkey
Tea Time Placemats
Tuesdays, September 6 & 20 5:00 – 8:00 pm This striking leaf design is sure to catch the eyes of your guests! Learn the newest paper piecing technique, called Curved Paper Piecing, to add the vein element of the leaf. With a regular binding around the shape of the paper pieced element, these little leaves can be hung on a wall in a collage, or placed on a table as a feature element. Or create a background and appliqué the leaves to the top! Make them in different colorways to go with your décor or the seasons! Papers for four placemats are included in the pattern. Fee: $50
Wednesday September 7 2:00 pm – 4:00 or 6:00 – 8:00 pm Everyone has a box of T-shirts they can’t part with, yet no longer wear. It’s the emotional attachment! Good news - these shirts make excellent quilts! Because they are knits, there are few tricks to working with them. Gay has made several T-shirt quilts and she is happy to share her techniques with you. Bring some shirts and turn them into pillows, quilts or even totes.This class will cover the basics of cutting, sewing and preparing T-shirts for a variety of projects. Basic sewing and cutting skills required. Fee: $20
