By her work among us, she has enlarged our vision of the Kingdom of God and moved us along the path forward. We anticipate her continuing ministry, reconciling people to one another and to God. WORSHIP EPILOGUE. Life is a series of endings and beginnings. As the liturgical year draws to a close, we'll look to some of the great "ending" texts of Scripture – letting them "teach us to number our days, that we may gain a wise heart" (Psalm 90:12).

RETIRED MINISTERS & MISSIONARIES OFFERING has had a long history of support from Calvary each December in partnership with American Baptist Churches USA and The Alliance of Baptists. This offering is used to help retired ministers and missionaries with emergency needs. Many retired ministers worked for smaller congregations with lower salaries and, thus, lower pensions. Please give generously to the RMMO offering this December by marking your envelope or check with RMMO. POINSETTIAS. Purchase a poinsettia to honor or remember a friend or loved one this season. Forms are available in Narthex or church office, and order deadline is Monday, December 15. We’ll place poinsettias in the Sanctuary for worship on Sunday, December 21.

On October 19, the Board announced the name of the candidate for Intentional Interim Pastor, Rev. Dr. Joseph Glaze, and on November 16, the congregation approved him by vote. Pastor Joe begins next Sunday, November 30. Welcome, Pastor Joe Glaze!

The Reverend Dr. Joseph Glaze is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and is married to the Reverend Jennifer Montgomery, rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Arlington, Virginia. They make their home in Arlington—along with Ruby, their Black Lab. Joe holds ordained ministerial standing in both the American Baptist Churches, USA and the United Church of Christ. He holds degrees from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and received his doctorate from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. Joe has experience in campus ministry, denominational leadership, urban social ministry, theological education, and the pastorate.
