COLLEGE AND CAREER READY

VENTURES MEETS THE COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS STANDARDS FOR ADULT EDUCATION

The CCRS are a critical set of guidelines for Adult ESL. Now more than ever, programs are using the CCRS to shape their curriculum. Ventures is aligned to the standards, allowing you and your teachers to adopt the series with confidence.

HOW VENTURES MEETS THE CCRS IN THE STUDENT’S BOOKS

Ventures integrates college and career readiness directly into each lesson, instead of teaching it in separate sections. By covering college and career readiness as part of language learning,

students internalize the standards in ways that are more contextualized and meaningful. They develop their academic and workforce skills while learning vocabulary and grammar.

As part of a series of reading comprehension exercises, Ventures asks students to analyze unknown words using context clues. CCR Language Anchor 4 Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases by using context clues, analyzing meaningful word parts, and consulting general and specialized reference materials, as appropriate.
