EVERYDAY PRESS PHOTOGRAPHY We present to you exceptional issue showcasing international street and press photography, viewed through the eyes of photographers who captured these moments in the everyday life of strangers. So here they are and they communicate with us with different emotions. Sometimes the subject is all about color and sometimes just in black and white, realism has provided an accurate and insightful record of street culture portraying different situations. Some of these images are moving and sometimes disturbing photojournalism, a reflection of the human condition, story of a great friendship, fight for freedom, poignant and inspiring press photographs from around the globe. We at Camerapixo strive to generate interest in and appreciation for the work of photographers. We believe in the power of visual journalism to inspire and shape us through present stories.

CHRISTIAN KLEIMAN NEW ZEALAND
ALWAYS ACCESS THE FRONT ROW The Volvo Ocean Race is the World's longest professional sporting event and leading offshore sailing competition. As a Freelance Photographer and because of my relationship with sailing boats, I thought that it would be a nice chance to get involved in this adventure, shooting photos. So, it was time to try out the Camerapixo's Press Card. Artur and Anetta showed great support for my project and backed me up with everything needed in order to obtain from the Volvo Ocean Race organization, my accreditation as a Media Independent Photographer for the event. All media facilities were there for my use and I've met all kind of interesting people and great artists. My accreditation always enabled me to access the front row, where the action was taking place. Thank you Camerapixo for your support!
LIGHT AND SHADES
EDUARD FRANCES SPAIN Born in Xativa (Valencia), Spain. He is a self-taught photographer who started taking photos in 1987 and began learning about analog photography technics and chemistry laboratory. Eduard also learnt making his own chemical formulas and emulsified paper and has created copies in Fine Art in baryta paper in a limited edition. Eduard has spent a big part of his time working on Ansel Adams zone system. Eduards obsession: To take a photo which has a life of its own in black and white. Streets are his favorite place where he tries to catch with his eyes other people’s life and show it to his audience. Eduard does not like the manipulation of images and he never uses HDR or similar technics. His passion for black and white photography and the streets makes him study
the image and its light and shade to cause the greatest visual impact in my pictures. Eduard loves the streets, this is his style and a big part of his work. His photograph “La Pelu” is a snapshot, taken with a Nikon FM2 and Trix 400 film and printed with D76. The equipment that Eduard used since he started photography was the following: Nikkormat, FM2, F301, F90X,ContaxG1 and Leica M6 in 6X6 Hasselblad format. He has used many different lenses but only uses wide-angle lens nowadays. For Eduard, photography is feelings and soul. Where one part is about the technique and other is about soul. Capturing the life and being able to leave a historic document. On the other hand, photography shouldn’t consist in manipulating photographs like HDR.

I CAN NOW GET CLOSER TO THE PLAYERS
GET YOUR PRESS CARD
DONNIE SINONGCO MALAYSIA
As a huge and avid tennis fanatic, I always make sure to book the best seats to watch my favorite tennis players LIVE. It is shown here locally as Malaysia hosts one of the ATP 250 World Tour matches, or even Grand Slams. Also as an avid photographer, it helps to hone my skills in photojournalism, particularly in sports photography. Watching the actions as it happens and freezing the moments with my camera are perfect dosages for satisfaction. But ever since I have been issued with the Camerapixo Press ID, my sporting and shooting experiences were propelled even to greater heights! I can now even get closer to the players during their press conferences, meetand-greet sessions and be ON the court side to capture their moves as they play. That is much better compared to VIP seats and royal boxes! I managed to get hold of all these first hand during the last BMW Malaysia Open 2014 (WTA 250) here in Kuala Lumpur, where I was given my very first media accreditation by the organizers through the help of Camerapixo.
As members of the media, we were the first to be briefed with information about the event including program schedule, players; whereabouts, special functions and even cocktail invitation. We were also treated for some light refreshments all throughout the coverage and provided with regular transportation to and from the event. All these privileges come with your passion for sports photography, so I am very much thankful to Anetta and Artur for the issuance of my Press ID Card. They are very helpful especially when it comes to requesting accreditation to be passed on to the event organizers. Just a tad note to those who want to apply for media accreditation when covering sporting events, ALWAYS be aware of the deadline for submission (unlike me, who missed two of the best tennis events this year due to late application - the BNL Internationale Italia and the Roland Garros). However, I am looking forward to cover more events (not only sports) through my Press ID. Thanks once again to Camerapixo! It’s all worth the experience!
IT’S ALL ABOUT EMOTIONS
ALEKSANDRA KUCZYNSKA POLAND Poland-based photography rookie, in love with aviation since she was a child. Graduated at international relations, professionally engaged in commercial real-estate, after hours in constant chase after new challenges and adrenaline. Attempt to capture the emotions made her reach for her first camera - Nikon D7000, which slowly but surely started to become inseparable companion.
Since then she’s been traveling to Polish airbases and all over Europe to enjoy the world of powerful military aircraft, spectacular flares and sound of afterburners. Her photographic interests aren’t limited to aviation only - wildlife and travel photography make a vital share of her passion.
Self-taught, yet strongly inspired by “aviation freaks” from Association of Polish Aviation Photographers AIRACTION, which she joined in 2012.

MAGNUS MILLERFLIP PERSSON SWEDEN
I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CARD FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO WORK WITH PHOTOJOURNALISM Being an amateur photographer, being published in Camerapixo, has helped me to take that next step in my photographic development, which I might not have taken otherwise. Photojournalism and documentary is what is closest to my heart. After I got Camerapixo’s PRESS ID CARD, I have photographed demonstrations and riots in Denmark and Sweden. Right now I am in Bangkok and photograph the Thai military coup and the development here. All the media here is registered and checked every day by the military and police. Have not had any problems with any authority in neither Denmark, Sweden and Thailand.
This PRESS ID CARD opens many doors for me, that have never been opened before... I can highly recommend this card for anyone who wants to work with photojournalism, fulltime, part-time or freelance. Very grateful to be a part of the Camerapixo family with all of these talented photographers worldwide! The support you get from Camerapixo team is awesome! BIG Thanks to Artur and Anetta Camerapixo publishers!

FROZEN MOMENTS
ERIC MONVOISIN FRANCE Eric became interested in photography at the age of 13. As soon as he made his first money, he was 18, bought his first SLR camera. Eric discovered the development and printing of photographs with film lab. It was really magical to see the photograph appear slowly on the white paper in the developer bath. This activity was expensive. He was a student at the time, and he gave mathematics courses to be able to maintain his photographic passion.
In Eric’s opinion the pictures he took when he was a student were very very poor. But professional life has kept him away for very long time. He actually rediscovered this passion about 5 years ago.
Today, at age 52, his approach is oriented towards the exploitation of the environment, natural or urban, light and weather. Exploiting the beauty of the setting, enhance the magic of light by passing an anonymous, to stage to match the place and time. He also likes At that time, when Eric the spontaneity of street was taking photographs of photography. Eric likes to landscapes or monuments, capture moments that may he was very careful that noseem trivial because they are body is in the picture. Today, part of every day life, but he finds that the human become unique once frozen presence in a photograph by the camera. provides an extra touch.
A series of 10 of his photos on the “Light” theme was selected by the “Vincennes Images Festival”, a photography meeting in Paris region held at the end of May 2015. Another series of 20 of my photos has been selected for an exhibition to be held in Saint Julien en Genevois, near Geneva, in October, 2015.
“Garden and Landscape in Europe”. He was the winner in 2013 and 2014 of the photo contest organized by the city of Annecy on “I present my city.” Eric is a member of the Photo Club of Annecy for almost 2 years now. This allows him to share with others, to give and receive constructive criticism to improve and evolve.
Eric was awarded with second prize in a photography competition organized in 2010 by a Belgian club “Photo Club La Bruyere” on
He thinks the criticism is very important. It is preferable to make it clear to a person that you love but also what we do not like in his work,

or what can be améioré. The purpose of criticism is not to please, but to provide the best advice to allow everyone to evolve, even if critics are always subjective and very personal. Today, with the development of Internet, the proliferation of photography sites, web pages, it is much easier to evaluate our work compared to that of others. The extraordinary photographs that you can see, made around the world, can only force us to question ourselves and encourage us to be modest.

The night is as warm as the day, only the Sun has stopped drawing sharp shadows on the pavement, and houses have lost their radiant whiteness. The shirt keeps sticking to my body and it’s a somewhat comforting thought that the locals are not excepted from this. Men wipe their foreheads, women drive sweat from their cleavage. I move up the street and cross gutters of water flowing from doorsteps, where housekeepers have washed away the dust of the day. The rush has died down, chairs have appeared in front of the houses with old men sitting out their daily fatigue, children leaning their backs against the walls. Suddenly no one is a bother here. No longer am I a walking unlimited credit card, the question "Where are you come from?" has ceased to mean "How much will you give me?"; even the taxi drivers might have stopped overcharging

foreigners and the ride now perhaps costs no more than a few pesos. I forget waiting in vain for a bus together with a group of child-laden women; I forget that a few buses went by without stopping until I hitched us a ride like Europeans do, and paid everybody’s fare. I forget having to pay for everybody who raised glasses with me in the tavern in the square but then sneaked out quietly. None of this is true any longer, all wrongs are forgotten, the evening brings a happy time of kindness. As I approach the centre, music from every bar sprinkles the pavement. People holding a glass of mojito are standing under the bar windows, moving to the rhythm. Greedy looks have given way to smiles, the night smells like a promise of normality. The bar beckoned from afar. Narrow high windows reaching from the floor up to the roof, wide open to the street, printing longish yellow rectangles onto the cobbled ground. The band is tuning their instruments.

The singer, leaning her elbow against the bar, is drinking fresh cane juice (possibly fortified with rum) and watching the lads with the instruments. I secure a place near one of the windows where breathing is still possible, watching the waiters wearing white headbands and simple tunics; some tools from slavery times on the walls. I’m ordering a beer and listening to some truly great funk. The lads’ playing is joyful and concentrated, side-glances reveal their enjoyment while I’m sipping lazily at my drink. From the inside the street looks like a negative of what it looked like from the outside. The bar is bathing in light, darkness pierces through the windows. Suddenly a rider appears in the dark opening between the doorframe. A placid movement of the hand brings the horse onto the boundary of light and shadow, partly entering the room, partly lost in the darkness. He slides gently from the saddle on the side, foot firmly in the stirrup,

and reaches for a Coke brought by a woman whose cheeks are gleaming with sweat. Everything blends into a curve connecting the silhouette of the horse standing in the dark, the hunched shoulders of the rider, the hand reaching for the drink, the cup, the arm and shoulders of the woman standing in full light, concluded by the hair flowing freely onto her back. I reach for my camera in an automatic gesture. Damn. Where is it? I panic for a second before I realize that I’ve left the camera in my room. I no longer wanted to worry about it, be on my toes all the time listening to the locals’ warnings that my equipment is not safe in such places. Damn, damn, damn. A thousand times I’ve dragged it along with me without making a single decent picture, and when suddenly my eyes see the snapshot of the century… I’m sipping my beer and swear at myself using expressions I didn’t know when I was young. I can’t get the picture out of my head. Perfect lighting,

composition, lines moving from shadows to the light… I have one more to wash away my grief before I pay. The magic of the night continues. I don’t need to check if I was charged for something I didn’t have; I don’t need to count the change to see if they took more than would’ve been decent; I don't need to listen to excuses that they made a mistake or that the drink list had it wrong. As if I no longer were in a country whose economy is based on black market practice; as if reasonable theft from the public budget was no longer tolerated as an integral part of making a living. Everything is normal. The heat of the night has recast the promise into reality. I amble back to my guest house, the funk music still in my ears, my head full of the horseback rider framed by the window on the background of darkness. The photo I’ve never taken will stay with me for quite some time.

MERAPI BETWEEN ASHES AND FIRE DIEGO ZAPATERO INDONESIA
The magnitude of its last eruption on October 26, 2010 wrote a new chapter in the history of Java, taking the lives of 300 people. It is the Merapi's biggest activity in the last hundred years. Merapi, started well, playing with the hope of a people who vanished, giving way to a hell for more than 2 months, when the Javanese focused on struggling for survival.
