publishers A few words from the publisher...

The value of urban open spaces is self-evident. People enjoy viewing nature, especially when it is otherwise extensively deprived, as is the case in urban environments. Therefore, open space offers the value of substituting gray infrastructure. In this issue we have the pleasure to present photography about conceptual urban space. Let’s not forget that part of urban space is nature photographed in many ways. Portrait photography has taken place and was widely used

since the invention of camera. Sometimes ideal approach is when the photographer in their portraiture constructs an idea around the portrait — happy family, romantic couple and narrating a story with photography. We all have something to share and photos are neutral to feelings. You are the creator of how the story will appeal to you.

Present a fresher point of view with photography David Leslie Anthony

I am very selective regarding which publications I’ll do interviews for, and when Camerapixo approached me, I said yes. Why? Because Camerapixo strives to present a fresher point of view with photography, unlike so many of the “cookie-cutter publications” out there. Camerapixo delves into how a photographer thinks; why do they do

what they do; and how do they see the world within their chosen medium. Camerapixo is also farreaching. Just the other day, I received an email from a reader in Venezuela, saying how much he enjoyed my interview, and felt inspired. THAT is what a great magazine should do, and Camerapixo does... Inspire!

Since the advent of photography, people have sought to curate the finest imagery in one location with the ambition of sharing and maintaining a dialogue between both photographers and their audiences. Never has there been a finer example of this than Artur Heller’s Camerapixo.

Jordana Wright

A perfect hybrid of online content and magazinestyle readability, Camera-

pixo showcases not only excellent photographers, but also there stories and techniques. This is truly a magnificent publication deserving the attention of any serious photographer or lover of fine art. photographer Black and white technique for maximum laconicism of the picture In 2005 Ruslan bought his first digital camera. Landscapes have become his favorite genre. At that time though he also kept shooting still life. Something urged Ruslan to look for the new self-expression. So, he contemplated: why should my still life pictures be the same as those shot before me? Why shouldn’t they be different?

in 2008. During the following years there appeared some shots of this series where he tried to reflect the issues of everyday living. He tried to attribute the super image to the still life while diminishing its visual image. Ruslan deliberately used black and white technique for maximum laconicism of the picture. He used the technique of shooting a monotoThe result of that con- nous still life image in templation was that full darkness using a Ruslan started shoot- spotlight, long expoing a series “Philosures (up to 3-4 min), sophical still life” moving objects during

the exposure. While making this series he gained a number of certain techniques. Ruslan likes them and always keeps them in mind while thinking about new projects. Thus, simultaneously there appeared projects followers named “Little world”, “Parts of the whole”, “Flora”, “Elements”, “Ulitizmo”. All these projects were made in a similar technique, so he decided to unite them in a cycle “Flat still life” and plans to develop it. Though

Ruslan is not limited exceptionally by this trend. Quite the contrary, it nourishes him and gives ideas for new experiments and achievements. Photography is not only Ruslan’s hobby, it is also the means of self-expression and discovery of the world. It is the way to make friends, among whom he is pleased to name Guy Gagnon. The first exhibition of Ruslan’s work “Ulitizmo” was organized in 2012 in the city of Saratov, Russia.

exhibition “Being natural is simply a pose, and the most irritating pose I know” *

Photographer Tomek Olesiński

Photographer Marek Wesołowski

We live in an era of beauty, youth and fitness. We worship the proportionality, we adore smoothness and velvety cheeks. Almost like in the court of Louis XIV, who from the trout only at the cheeks... just we do it all much worse. Why look at the world through the viewfinder of a camera? Why should you explore the reality beyond the simple criteria? I do not know why but I’m sure it’s worth it. A peculiar exhibition. On the one hand about an extremely personal topic - dad’s portrait. Not father but a dad. Dad, the man with whom we share a very important genetic thread of understanding, that we are a part of him. His small world, very near the end of a long journey, with bread, kettle and everyday life that will never be rushed to the front, because it is not important. Photos by Marek Wesołowski show his father, though he is not present in all of them contrary to the author. At the time when we forget about such people, we push them into the abyss of oblivion - because they do not chase, do not know, shave too long

and firmly refuse to eat the cake from the store. Because they fight with their way, each day choosing what they need, what belongs to their world. Stumble with loneliness and old age and that is not smooth, soft, will not touch velvety - like the taste of yogurt advertising. It’s just that it is truly beautiful. On the other side, photographs by Tomek Olesiński and on them, a kaleidoscope of rejection. As the school of illusion when the teacher says, “and now I’ll show you all what eyes of your viewers do not want to see.” Personality. Therefore look at the world, with the eye of the artist. It all would look very different in the aseptic interior, of such faces, dilapidated hub and slices of bread and margarine are not suitable for Guggenheim, but in Katowice (Poland) Gallery Negative seem to be at home. The more that no one chased away from the center, there is no exploring “on time” and mandatory throwing a coin into the fountain - to go back. You can just come back for a beer, photos will be looking out from the walls. Grzegorz Senderowicz * Oscar Wilde “The Portrait of Dorian Gray” Photography © Marek Wesołowski
