LA CONTRACULTURA: Es una subcultura cuyos valores y normas de comportamiento difieren sustancialmente de los de la sociedad en general, a menudo en oposición a la cultura en general. Un movimiento contracultura expresa el espíritu y las aspiraciones de una población específica durante una era bien definida. Cuando las fuerzas de oposición alcanzan una masa crítica, las contraculturas pueden desencadenar cambios culturales dramáticos. Prominent examples of countercultures in Europe and North America include Romanticism (1790– 1840), Bohemianism (1850–1910), the more fragmentary counterculture of the Beat Generation (1944–1964), followed by the globalized counterculture of the 1960s (1964–1974), usually associated with the hippie subculture and the diversified punk subculture of the 1970s and 1980s.

Artivismo es una palabra exclusiva que combina arte y activismo. El artivismo se arraiga o se ramifica de una reunión de artistas chicanos del este de Los Ángeles y zapatistas en Chiapas, México, en 1997. Las palabras "Artivista" y "Artivismo" se popularizaron a través de una variedad de eventos, acciones y obras de arte. The words "Artivist" and "Artivism" were popularized through a variety of events, actions and artworks rt. Artivism developed in recent years as antiwar and anti-globalization protests emerged and proliferated. In many cases artivists attempt to push political agendas by the means of art, but a focus on raising social, environmental, and technical awareness is also common. //
