Measles outbreak! Do we have a responsibility to be
vaccinated? Measles is one of the most contagious viral infections in the world. It can make people extremely unwell and in some cases lead to other problems resulting in death. Fortunately there is a vaccine available free through the NHS to protect people against contracting this disease. It is offered to babies at 1213 months and a booster given before they start school. Not everyone choses to vaccinate their child however and because of this there has been an outbreak of measles in Wales were 1200 people have had the illness. Do you think everyone should have the vaccine or should parents get to decide?
