We’re stronger and it’s all thanks to you! Embracing a new era by Bruce Abel When Council created the Election Readiness Campaign Team (ERCT) at its October 2004 retreat, it was known that this body was only a temporary measure as we moved steadily from a working council towards a governing council. As members may know, the ERCT was streamlined into a smaller management committee in March and I'm happy to announce that the governance transition process is now complete, with the appointment of Jean Langlois as the party's first Executive Director.

Jean Langlois joins the Green Party team from the Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) where he served as executive director for seven years. Fluently bilingual, Jean's academic background includes a Master of Science in biology from Carleton University and diplomas from the Institute for Conservation Leadership in Environmental Leadership and the Institute's Executive Director Development Program. One of the many qualities that Jean brings to his new post is hands-on experience with the challenges of transitioning to a governing council, leading the development of five-year strategic plans, and implementing sound operational policies. continued / voir page 5 www.greenparty.ca www.partivert.ca
