Type of Grout ➔ Cement grout is generally the most affordable type of grout. ➔ Some tile installers work with epoxy grouts.These are ◆ More expensive. ◆ More resistant to staining. ◆ Superior from a durability standpoint.
Grout Color ➔ Dozens of shades of grout colors you can choose to use with your tile project. ➔ If one prefers the style and tone of the tile to stand out, match the color of the grout to the main colors in the tile. ➔ If one wants the patterns in the tile installation to pop out, choose a contrasting lighter contrasting hue grout color. ➔ Where the tile is very light choose darker grout color to pop out.
Tile Spacing ➔ Grout width is an important factor to consider when scheduling tile installation. ➔ If spacers are used with the installation ◆ Standard width for grout is approximately one-quarter inch. ◆ For smaller tiles,smaller grout line may be needed. ◆ With large floor tiles,a three-sixteenth inch grout may be used. ➔ When the homeowner wants the grout to be barely visible ◆ an even smaller grout width may be preferred. ◆ With ceramic tiles that mimic the look of wood floors,smallest grout line is used. ➔ Installation time and cost can increase when a smaller grout width is selected.
