God created you for community. Groups are an essential way to connect with your church family and strengthen your faith! Don’t do life alone.
Hope Groups
Tuesdays at 7PM on campus starting September 10th
Sometimes we need healing and hope in an area of our life where we struggle or have hurt. Hope Groups help people find freedom from things that keep them from fully embracing the abundant life God has for them. Hope Groups meet on Tuesdays nights on campus.
Anxious for Nothing | Juan Martinez
You can stop letting anxiety rule your day. Find true calm and contentment in Christ. Together we’ll learn God’s prescription for worry and how to walk it out.
Embrace Grace | Jessica Champlin & Tanya Guerrero
Embrace Grace provides unwed mothers the tools they need to navigate unexpected pregnancy. They will learn how to create a healthy and loving home for their children.
Embrace Life | Kayte Kinder & Lilah Villegas
Embrace Life is a group for single moms of school-aged children that equips them with practical tools to grow in their spiritual walk while navigating the challenges of motherhood.
Fit for Faith | Jayson Thomas & Paul Connell
This group is for adults looking to reset their health for the glory of God. Learn how to care for your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Freedom in Christ | Hank & Carol Wilcox
Take hold of who you are in Christ. Learn how to uncover and resist the enemy’s lies, and walk in the truth of God’s Word. This is a course for every Christian.

Healing Hearts | Valerie Rivas
This class offers hope and spiritual guidance for ladies who have experienced trauma stemming from physical, verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse.
Marriage Matters | Kenny & Paris Davis
This class addresses the key pillars of a Christ-centered marriage. No matter the stage of your relationship, come and receive encouragement and a fresh dose of joy.
Hope Groups for Kids
DivorceCare for Kids | Deborah Noriega
This group provides kids with a safe and neutral place to gain an age-appropriate understanding of separation and divorce.
*This group meets on Sundays at 11:15AM
Lightbringers | Cheryl Hestley
This class teaches kids who they are in Christ and the importance of living with the light of Jesus Christ inside of them. Your child will learn Scripture and to always shine the light of Christ.
*This class is for students 1st-5th grade

Outreach Teams
At Canyon Hills, compassion is our calling and we’re specifically focused on reaching those far away from God and showing compassion to those in need. Outreach Teams play a vital role in the church’s mission to share the Gospel while serving hurting people. If you’re looking for a place to be an extension of the love of Jesus to those around you, join an Outreach Team!
Seasonal Outreaches
Seasonal outreaches are designed to serve people in need during specific times of the year, such as holidays or seasonal events. These programs often include activities like food drives at Thanksgiving, holiday celebrations, or special county events that help spread the love of Jesus.
Partnership Outreaches
Canyon Hills partners with local organizations, businesses, and non profits such as The Mission of Kern County, Stay Focused Ministries, and CityServe to help hurting people in our community. By leveraging shared goals and strengths, we’re able to have a greater impact as we serve people in need.

Local outreaches focus on serving people in our community. These outreaches may include going to an apartment complex, government assisted hotels, convalescent homes and surrounding neighborhoods near our church. Discipleship Groups
Thursdays on campus at 7PM starting September 12th
You need to be equipped with the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Discipleship Groups help believers build a solid foundation in their faith by the systematic study of God’s Word. These groups primarily meet on Thursdays and often go through a book or video study.

Journey Groups offer the opportunity for men, women and couples to gather, make great friends, and grow in their relationship with God. Everyone meets for worship, a brief devotion, and then breaks out into smaller discussion groups.
Going Deeper
6AM in the Fireside Room
7PM in Room 204
Go deeper in your walk with the Lord by diving into Scripture with other men. Our Thursday Men’s Bible Study meets faithfully throughout the year, so men can grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and build strong relationships.
Women
Women’s AM Bible Study: 9:30AM at the Summit
Women’s PM Bible Study: 7PM in the Fireside Room
Dive deeper into the Word and discover the rich knowledge of the Bible. Through small group discussions and personal application, each study will take you on a new journey through God’s Word. Ladies Bible Study will help you grow stronger in your walk with the Lord and develop great relationships with other women.

Built for Boldness
7PM in Room 101
Learn how to share your faith while living out God’s call to make disciples of all nations. Through Built for Boldness, you’ll be guided in finding your purpose and learn how to be a light and witness to people around you.

Small Groups
New Small Groups
start the week of September 8th
We have Small Groups meeting all over the city and for all interests and needs. Small Groups are a great way to connect with people in a more casual setting. Some groups gather in homes, online, coffee shops and other places where people love to connect.
There are groups for men, women, singles, young adults and new groups are always being added!

Life Groups
Sundays on campus at 11:15AM
A Life Group gives everyone a chance to know and to be known by others. Life Groups do LIFE together! It’s a place where you can grow in community with other believers and in God’s Word. Life Groups primarily meet on Sunday mornings, but gather for fellowship throughout the week. We have Life Groups for youth, young adults, families, couples, singles and those wanting to go deeper in the Word of God. Life Groups are always open to new members and they can’t wait to meet you.

Support Groups

As followers of Christ, it is important that we are well in every area—mind, body, and soul. Support Groups are designed to provide encouragement and spiritual support in your journey towards true wellness. These groups will meet you in your physical need and spur you on towards health and abundant life in Christ.
Bakersfield Pregnancy Center
Embraced is a post-abortion care and education bible study that ministers to women who have been wounded by abortion. Embraced addresses the emotional and spiritual aspects of an abortion choice and provides a healing process in the light of God’s love and forgiveness.
Break Free
Break Free equips men and women who struggle with unwanted same-sex attraction by teaching them their true identity in Christ, a practical process of genuine repentance and belief, and the spiritual tools needed to live a free and fruitful life in Christ.
Cancer Care Group
The Canyon Hills Cancer Care Group seeks to offer God’s hope and love through spiritual, emotional and practical support for cancer patients and their families facing the challenges associated with every type of cancer.
Conquerors
Conquerors is a spirit-filled Christian support group that is centered around helping men find freedom from sexual addiction. This includes individuals who struggle with pornography, adultery, sexual immorality, and same-sex attraction. Conquerors will give you the tools you need to walk in purity and be the man that God has created you to be.
Fresh Hope
Fresh Hope is a peer-to-peer Christ-centered wellness approach to mental health recovery based upon helping people to connect both their faith and recovery principles. This approach both empowers and encourages individuals to live full and rich lives despite their diagnosis.
Reflections
Reflections is a 10-week Bible study designed for women who have personally experienced abortion. Reflections is a safe, confidential haven to address the complex issues that result from abortion while providing a pathway to experience the healing, grace and freedom God desires to give.
