Effective communication lies at the heart of modern government and commerce. It enables governments and businesses to link directly to their people: those who work for them or with them and those whom they serve.

Communicating with the public through the media How to write effectively How to create effective speeches and presentations How to manage a communication crisis TV and radio interview techniques Internal communication

This programme teaches the art and science of effective speechwriting and speech-making. It looks at the use of speeches as a tool of leadership, as part of a communications strategy, and as a method of changing public perception and action. It takes you on a journey from the ancient Greeks and Romans to Barack Obama, via great orators like Martin Luther King, Winston Churchill and other world leaders. Tutors use real-life excerpts to illustrate key points, and the workshop culminates in a speech-making masterclass which will leave you feeling confident and ready to deliver high-quality speeches to any size of audience.
