ILM Level 5 Award in Management Overview The ILM Level 5 Award in Management is designed to develop core middle management skills and knowledge. Participants have a degree of flexibility to attend existing Capita Learning & Development open courses that have been mapped to ILM units and will undertake relevant assessments, usually in the form of written assignments to gain this recognized qualification.
Who is it for? Practising or aspiring middle managers who want to build upon the foundation of their current role and develop their basic middle management skills and knowledge. Programme Format The programme comprises a series of face to face workshops. Delegates will have to complete sufficient modules to reach 10 credits under the national qualifications framework to qualify for the award. The mandatory module (Understanding the Management Role) counts for 4 credits. In addition to undertaking the mandatory module, delegates will be able to choose from a range of optional modules in order to achieve the 10 credits required. Following attendance on the workshops, complete the written assessments for each module within 4 weeks of attending (these will be provided to you in the candidate handbook). Mandatory Module For the Mandatory Module, delegates will be required to attend: Effective Middle Management (3-day course, see page 24) and Communication Skills for Managers (2-day course, see page 13). Optional Modules M5.09 - Attendance on Report Writing (2-day course,see page 74) to supplement the Communication Skills for Managers course M5.14 - Attendance on Finance for Non-financial Managers (2-day course, see page 71) M5.15 - Attendance on Project Management Tools and Techniques (3-day course, see page 57) M5.27 - Attendance on Presentation Skills (2-day course, see page 68)
