1ST QUARTER MANAGER’S MINUTE
Dear Stormy Point Village Owners,
Your Stormy Point Village HOA team is excited to serve you this winter at your home away from home! Whether you’ve already visited or have plans to arrive, keep things cool with tons of entertainment and activities at your service!
While 2022 was a hectic year, we were excited to see so many of our owner’s vacation back to Stormy Point Village! 2023 will be even busier as we have many fun and exciting events, such as enhanced entertainment on the freshly stained concrete patio, a newly heated pool at pirate’s harbor, and more new furniture for the cottages arriving! You will also notice that starting in February, we will have the much-needed repair work completed on the archways and gables of many cottages; this repair work not only adds to the safety of the resort but also enhances the beautification of
the property as well! Our teams are working hard in each unit to complete a preventative maintenance process, and deep cleans on all cottages!
There will be tons of fun and change for the good in store for this 2023 year, and I can’t wait for all of you to see it through! Be sure to vacation with us this year at your home away from home!
Sincerely,
Cheri Schultz, General Manager Stormy Point VillageSTORMY POINT VILLAGE HAPPENINGS
This past year has been full of projects to better your resort. New couches and chairs have been purchased and installed in 45 units, with more on the way. The design for these new pieces enhances the nautical setting of our resort and brings nostalgia through the living room now as well. We certainly hope our guests will love these new pieces as much as we do!
We have enhanced our existing gazebos to include electric grills for your convenience and added several new locations throughout the property with more grills. These locations can be found on your maps when you check in with us!
Our newly renovated Pirates Harbor pool and water park officially kicked off the season in 2022 and will start our 2023 pool season even earlier (March) with the added heat feature! All the new features, such as the fresh new umbrella on the sun deck of the pool, the water fountains, and the newly stained concrete patios, have added a nice touch to the project completion that we know our guests are enjoying thoroughly.
We are excited to announce that a third-party vendor is operating the restaurants on the property. They have revamped the Salty Dog menu at Pirates Harbor and have added the Shady Taco to the Lighthouse Clubhouse! Make sure to check out these restaurants when you visit next! You may have already seen it. If so, let us know what you think about the new service!
FREE THINGS TO DO IN BRANSON:
Branson, Missouri offers a great selection of things to do for free! Here are just a few ideas to get you started.
Lake Taneycomo – Located in old downtown Branson, Lake Taneycomo is a colder body of water, ideal for trout fishing; both rainbow and brown trout are released into the lake from the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. Fish off the docks, feed the ducks and geese, stroll through the park, or just sit and enjoy the view of the clear waters and rugged cliffs. Take a walk around Branson Landing and enjoy the boardwalk, amphitheater, fountains, shopping, attractions, music, and more.
Table Rock Lake and Dam – Crowds gather daily to admire this engineering colossus holding back the waters of the old White River. Table Rock Dam is impressive measuring 6,423 feet in length and rising 252 feet above the riverbed. The beautiful clear waters of the lake are perfect for nearly every type of water recreation you can imagine.
Table Rock Lake State Park – No visit to the lake would be complete without stopping by Dewey Short Visitor Center near the dam. Exhibits include a state-of-the-art interactive map of the lake. There are also murals, a replica of an Ozarks bluff complete with local flora and fauna. A Native American artifact exhibit and Ozark diorama are fascinating features of the interpretive center. There is also a display area showing the inner working of the hydroelectric dam.
Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery – This is one of Branson’s most popular tourist sites. Located below Table Rock Dam, the hatchery has an assortment of beautiful aquariums displaying Missouri’s game fish. A walk-through of the trout hatchery, which raises over a million trout every year, is an especially big hit with families.
Scenic Views – One popular scenic view is located south on Highway 165 across Table Rock Dam. This drive-up attraction has spectacular views of Branson, Table Rock Lake and Dam, Lake Taneycomo, and the beautiful Ozark mountains. Another great view is the Henning State Forest Lookout, located about two miles west of town on W. Hwy 76.
College of the Ozarks – You won’t find a more picturesque campus. Signs proclaim this mountain college “Hard Work U”, owing to the 15 hours per week each student must work to cover tuition. Students maintain the lovely landscaping, with walking paths, a pond with swans and fountains, and many other spots that are great for pictures. While there, visit the Keeter Center which is a student-run facility with an award-winning restaurant, gift shop, ice cream and treat shop, and much, much more. Free tours are also offered of the Edwards Mill, a student-operated 1880’s grist mill producing products you can purchase on-site.
Free Sunday Shows – Several of the Branson theaters open their doors Sunday mornings for some good ole gospel get-togethers, Ozark style. Hear some of your favorite Branson entertainers and musicians performing traditional gospel music.
