MARKET CONDITIONS IMPROVE ACROSS PERTH In the last 30 years, I´ve seen the property market in Western Australia rise and fall countless times. However, it´s no secret that the last few years have been particularly challenging and as an industry, we’ve weathered some very tough times. So, it is with much optimism that I welcome the latest research from REIWA, which reveals that the purchasing conditions today are the best they´ve been since 2013. For prospective buyers reading this issue, this means the properties within these pages just became even more appealing! With other capital cities such as Sydney and Melbourne showing signs of cooling down, I’m looking forward to finding out what the next six months has in store for owners and investors here in Perth. Our economy is slowly improving and

the rental market is also firming up, with the Perth metro vacancy rate trending down and rental returns trending up. Researchers from Curtin University, who compile the Rent-Buy index each quarter for REIWA, also have positive news to report, stating that current low interest rates are making home ownership more affordable than renting. They forecast increased buyer interest in Perth´s property market over the next 12 months, which is great news for those who are considering selling.
