COULD THE SUNSHINE IN PERTH’S MARKET LEAD TO A DROUGHT? Last Wednesday, Perth hit a high note with its first 30-degree day of the season. Spring is upon us and with it, the real estate market has sprung into action. Despite the distractions that tend to accompany the school holidays, Royal Show and football finals, buyers have been out in full force this month. A significant motivation for buyers is the value available right now in the Perth market, which is being further bolstered by the low mortgage rates on offer. Properties are being snapped up off-market, with buyers stepping up with a strong offer as soon as the right place presents itself. Further signalling the region’s growth potential is the presence of investors from interstate (and even overseas) – the same people who wisely targeted Sydney and Melbourne years ago are now putting their money on Perth.
