A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH FOR THE MARKET As we head into 2017, it’s heartening to see most of the challenges of 2016 are behind us. Data from the Real Estate Institute of WA shows the market is strengthening every week – last week, 659 transactions were recorded, a healthy amount by any measure. The number of properties listed for sale is 4% higher than four weeks ago, but still 8% below the same time last year – which is creating healthy competition amongst buyers. Our team is regularly generating multiple offers in private treaty campaigns and attracting multiple bidders to auctions. In the rental market, leasing activity (agreed leases) is continuing to rise, and median prices across the metropolitan area have stabilised. With 10,667 rental properties currently advertised across the region (15% higher than this time last year), it’s essential to be at the top

of a prospective tenant’s wish list. Attractive presentation, quality photography and sound marketing strategies mean that many of our rental properties are being leased under competition, for above the advertised weekly rent. We also roll out the red carpet for prospective tenants, by being quick to respond to queries and happy to organize viewings and home opens afterhours.
