WRAPPING UP A WEIRD & WONDERFUL YEAR As the 2016-2017 financial year comes to an end, I´d like to say a huge thank you to our incredible and everexpanding group of clients and readers. The last 12 months has been all about expecting the unexpected. From Donald Trump´s presidential win, to the shock Brexit referendum, there were seismic power shifts around the world. Closer to home, Perth´s economy continued to feel uncertain , which dented confidence in the property market. It´s heartening to see those storm clouds may now be clearing, due in part to the major infrastructure and resource projects getting started in the region. Despite the mixed market, the CY team rose to every challenge, and consistently delivered results far in excess of what commentators would have predicted.

In total, we helped around 1,000 families move house, achieved $357.9 million in sales and transacted more than $20 million in rental revenue for our landlords. We generated 11,500 quality enquiries throughout the year (around 25 for every property listed), and facilitated more than 7,500 buyer inspections.

At a time when Perth property typically sat on the market for 69 days without result, we were selling our listings in 40 days on average. Our leasing team´s ´Time on Market´ averaged 26 days, compared with an industry average of 44. Likewise, CY´s vacancy rate came in at a very low 2.6%, at a time when the industry average was 7.1%. We also published 23 editions of this magazine, and printed more than 1.9 million copies in total.
