MORE POSITIVE PROPERTY NEWS Caporn Young´s positive start to 2018 has been vindicated in the latest REIWA housing report, which shows that the market is returning to a more balanced state. The new data coming out of the state´s industry body confirms that sales volumes are up by 13.7%, while the number of listings on the market are down 1.7% on last year. This means we have fewer properties on the market (therefore less supply), and more buyers actively snapping up homes and investments, signifying more demand. We are definitely seeing evidence of these changing market conditions at Caporn Young, with robust buyer interest and strong sales results in the first two months of the year. It´s a trend that we predict will continue into Autumn, as it seems
the challenging market conditions that have been holding Perth´s property market back over the last few years are finally abating. For instance, the WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry suggests the WA economy is on the rise.

After shrinking 2.7% in 2016-17, they forecast the economy will expand 0.9% this financial year before growing 3.3% the following year. Meanwhile, ABS figures show that Perth´s unemployment rate of 5.7% (as of January 2018) is virtually on par with the national unemployment rate of 5.6% - and is lower than South Australia and Queensland, at 6.0% and 6.1% respectively. These are all great signs for Perth´s property market - so if you´re in the market to buy, now may be the ideal time to take action, before competition heats up.
