LGU Cagdianao partners with mining sector for FMR project By Susil D. Ragas
The local government unit of Cagdianao town and Cagdianao Mining Corporation (CMC) recently led the groundbreaking ceremony of another Farm to Market Road (FMR) project in Barangay Nueva Estrella to Barangay Del Pilar in the municipality of Cagdianao, this province. The CMC, which is strongly committed to improve the wellbeing and economic conditions of its host and neighboring communities, partnered with the local government unit in the realization of the said FMR that aims to spur development in the barangays by making it easier for residents to travel and sell their goods to market centers. In his message during the groundbreaking ceremony, Cagdianao Municipal Administrator Marc Adelson Longos said the town is blessed for having the Cagdianao Mining as one of its development partners, noting that the company has been regularly extending aid and initiating high-impact projects even outside of its jurisdiction. He said the Nueva Estrella and Del Pilar road will enable access not only for farmers to sell their products but also speeds up health services for residents,

especially during emergency cases. On her part, Governor Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao expressed her gratitude for CMC’s assistance to improve the province’s road networks, which she says will open new opportunities for residents. CMC has started the opening and widening of the 4-kilometer road for Nueva Estrella to Del Pilar with at least 10 heavy equipment including backhoe, bulldozer, dumptrucks, boom truck, rock breaker and compactor for the construction of its road with the support of NAC-CMC contractors, Nickelbase Inc., Redstone Construction and Development Corp. and SDMC Fitz.
