Bimbofication: What is it?
The term 'bimbofication' is a colloquial term derived from the term 'bimbo' which is understood to mean, 'an attractive woman who is pretty, sexualised, naive and uneducated'.
In short, bimbofication is about intersectional feminism and feeling emboldened, whereas society has taught us that we should feel ashamed. It’s about owning one’s sex appeal and no longer minimizing yourself to appeal to social standards written for us by misogynistic men.
A lot of this trend has started on tiktok, by creators showing women that being attractive and feeling good in your body to wear clothes and look the way you want is okay. Female creators such as Chrissy Chlapecka and a lot of others, have a stand to prove that dressing for yourself and feeling comfortable, doesn’t mean youre dumb.
The bimbo aesthetic has a new meaning and its challenging mysogony. This Infamous meme (see under) illustraits a sterotype that dressing ‘hot’ means you’re dumb. the new bimbo rejects that some “bimbos” have said its being a redical leftist.
The new bimbo fashion is inclusive, its not about dressing for anyone else, its about having a confident mindset. This also means saying ‘F you!’ to sexism! Just be comfortable in what you wear.
A huge icon for dressing how you like, but also having something in your head comes from ‘Elle Woods’ (Legally Blonde). She proves all of those stereotypes wrong. Not only does she help out fellow women, she lets the ‘hungry’ men know that shes too good for them.
