NOVEMBER 11-13, 2024 | MYSTIC L A KE CENTER
76
WELCOME
In just a few months, our 76th convention & exposition— Care Providers of Minnesota’s annual, premier education event—begins. For three days—November 11-13, 2024— we will be back at Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake, providing you with outstanding education sessions, keynote presentations, opportunities to meet with exhibitors, time to visit with friends and peers, celebrate award recipients—including a record amount of national quality award recipients—and Leading4Life graduates, and of course, enjoy Monday’s Expo reception, a NEW IPC Escape Room experience, and a special event by Monarch Healthcare Management planned for Tuesday evening.
It’s a packed three days! Now, here’s a quick overview at what we have planned:
66 learning sessions led by knowledgeable and seasoned presenters. Sessions address a wide range of topics that providers are facing today, including sessions that fit our theme of Reframing for the Future. These sessions include AI (artificial intelligence), virtual reality, and technological advancement in LTC. And new this year are sessions specific to the dietary profession.
Two incredible keynote presentations! Monday’s keynote presenter is Avi Olitzky, president/consultant of Olitzky Consulting Group. Avi’s presentation will explore how artificial intelligence and innovative technologies are revolutionizing the long-term care industry.
Jerald Cosey is Tuesday’s keynote presenter. Cosey is a consultant, executive coach, author, and owner of J Cosey Speaks; his presentation will help you uncover strategies for implementing strong leadership skill-development to improve communication, produce quality outcomes, and positively impact retention.
Our annual meeting on Monday is open to all members. Attending is important as it provides you with an opportunity to participate in governance decisions for the Association, as well as meet those who will guide the Association in the coming years. (Note, the annual meeting is open to all members and lunch* will be provided; however, an RSVP is required.)
Expo hours that make the best use of everyone’s time! It starts with an exhibitors’ reception on Monday in the expo hall at 4:30 PM. Grab something to eat and drink and visit with our valued business partners. Dedicated expo hours continue Tuesday, allowing for additional discussions—and a complimentary lunch*!
IPC Escape Room is a new event open to all members, taking place on Monday after the expo hall reception. The Infection Prevention Control Escape Room is a fun, interactive experience. Participate here and then use the experiece to educate your own staff on how to protect residents and coworkers from infectious disease threats in healthcare.
Monarch Healthcare Management and friends will host an event on our second night of convention. Details will be forthcoming, but look for more information about this event on our website and on-site at Mystic Lake Center.
Care Providers of Minnesota’s Foundation Silent Auction will be held Tuesday from 9:30 AM-5:00 PM. 100% of the funds raised through the annual silent auction are used for caregiver scholarships—so plan to bid early and often!
We invite you to browse through this guide to see all the great opportunities we have in store for you—and keep checking online at: careproviders.org/convention for the latest updates. You can also get updates on your mobile devices; be sure to download our convention app at: my.yapp.us/CPMCON24

No more paper tracking forms or paper evaluations! The session evaluation is built into the QR code process.

These risks are further compounded when our residents take five or more medications and see multiple specialty providers. Join Kristina and Nicole, LTC consultant pharmacists, as they discuss the role of deprescribing to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for residents living with dementia. Learn the how, when, and where to start in the deprescribing process.

701: A HOW-TO GUIDE TO MEANINGFUL END-OF-LIFE CONVERSATIONS
You have the honor and challenge of walking alongside residents and families as they face difficult decisions related to end-of-life journeys. On any given day, in any given moment, you may not feel prepared or equipped to have difficult conversations about a patient’s longterm prognosis or the challenges in their end-of-life journey. During this session, you will find out what your personal conversation style is, learn tips on how to start difficult conversations, and through modeling and role play, practice guiding each other through how to have conversations around end-of-life questions, scenarios, and decisions. Together, we will explore how to identify what barriers may be in the way of having conversations about death and dying. We will share the wisdom of our lived experience, as well as the fears we, ourselves, may have around these topics. HR Solutions
We're Different Than The Other Guys
We have a different approach. Unlike the other guys, we don’t serve businesses that have nothing to do with the care industry.
We only offer HR solutions to facilities offering home care, skilled nursing, senior housing, assisted living, disability services, and long-term care.
Care is All We Do
We hire people from the senior care and disability care industries. Everything we do is built for the care industry.
Medium to Enterprise
Unlike other HR providers, our model is built to handle large care operations with 50-10,000 employees.
Care-Specific Services
Since we are built for you, our services are custom-designed to help drive better HR outcomes for care providers.
Tech for Care Providers
Our technology is built to ensure scheduling, time and attendance, reporting, and functionality meets our clients’ needs.
There are plenty of HR providers that relieve some HR burdens, but the one-size-fits-all approach just doesn’t work when you have complex pay rules, variable-hour employees, HIPAA compliance, EVV questions, and more. When you have a question, you have to wait in a queue to talk to an entry-level HR specialist who doesn’t understand the care industry.
Not with us. Have the peace of mind that when you call us, you’ll get an answer specific to you. Curious how we can help you? Connect with us!
