The model was used to illustrate the proposed volumetric design during meetings at the State Department.
Under the direction of the director of design, developed a study into the feasibility of the proposed sunscreen using 3D modelling in Ecotect, an environmental analysis software. The study reports the percentage of shade at each the building facades during an entire year. The study compares the percentage of shade with and without the sunscreens, and with the sunscreens at different configurations. This report was part of a larger study that identified strategies aimed at reducing the complex’s energy load.

development.
Specifically,
my contribution was the generation of formal investigations using a generative and parametric geometrical system through the use of a three dimensional scripting language.
This framework was conceived through a study of the relationships between the three main themes of the pavilion, as outlined in the competition brief. These relationships were translated into a generative system that allowed a taxonomy of distinct relationships, which were later adopted and refined into concept, circulation, and program.
Additionally, the entire oceanfront site was modelled in Maya 3D, where a section and site plan was further developed in ACAD and post processed in Illustrator.

PEOPLE MOVE LIKE WATER. This pavilion is a place to learn about and inhabit the experience of all of the forms of water as life, action, value and meaning through a set of interior and exterior pools. Some pools are literal and some are ďŹ gural; pools contain water, wildlife, people, experience, and texture. Each one is named as shown here, to express the variety of types, uses, perceptions and interactions between water, land, people and the earth. While the wall geometry is complex, the spaces are simple to allow for the exhibits.
