What is the Summer Reading Adventure?
Readers of all ages can earn incentives as they learn, read and participate throughout the summer. Enjoy engaging and educational in-person and virtual programs and performances. This year’s theme, “Find Your Voice,” encourages patrons of all ages to share stories, create art, make music and use their voices for good.
How do I participate?
REGISTER – Visit carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android or iOS. Log into your account or create one if you are a new reader. Sign up for the Summer Reading Adventure challenge that matches your grade or age.
RECORD – Read and complete activities to earn BINGO. Track your progress in Beanstack. Can’t get to a computer? Talk to a staff member about a different option.
REWARDS – Earn reading rewards while supplies last. Visit your local Carlsbad City Library location to pick up your rewards; last day to pick up is Aug. 19.

“Freddie vs. The Family Curse,” a funny and adventurous book about a Filipino boy named Freddie who thinks he might be able to break the family curse.
Her most recent novel, “This is Not a Personal Statement,” is about a student who gets rejected from her dream college and in a panic forges her own acceptance letter.
