If a class is cancelled by Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation, a full refund or a make-up class will be given. For any other reason, a Refund Request may be filled out and submitted 14 days prior to the program start date. All refunds are subject to the approval of the Monon Community Center Director and are subject to State Board of Accounts claim procedures. If approved, a full refund (less a $10 service charge) will be given. Check refunds may take up to 3-4 weeks to process.

Designed for children ages 3-5 who have very little, if any, swimming experience. Your child will work on getting comfortable putting their face in the water and blowing bubbles, while also developing essential swimming skills such as kicking, scooping, and floating. PRESCHOOL LEVEL 2

Designed to help children ages 3-5 with some swimming experience begin to develop independence in the water. Children should be able to submerge their nose and eyes in the water and be comfortable lying on their front and back with support. Children will strengthen their current swimming skills and explore combining arm and leg motions on their front and back. No evening classes on 11/21 and no class on 11/22 or 11/23. extended school enrichment Extended School Enrichment (ESE) is founded on the belief that each and every student is capable of being successful. We are committed to setting high expectations and assuring the development of a strong foundation in basic life skills.

ELIGIBLE STUDENTS

The Extended School Enrichment program is open to all children enrolled in grades K-6 at any of the Carmel Clay Elementary Schools.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS

Adaptive Swim Lessons target all ages and are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. Activities for swim lessons include water safety, blowing bubbles, floating, treading, stroke development, and stroke refinement. The swimmer is paired with an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor who has experience supporting individuals with disabilities. The lessons are scheduled based on the availability of the instructor and swimmer. Fee is $140 for ten 30-minute lessons.

Come as you are to a short dance performance of excerpts from this classic holiday ballet for families and children of all abilities. park stewardship Park stewardship is an essential part of keeping our parks natural and beautiful for years to come. As a park steward, you will engage in opportunities to protect and uphold the natural areas in our parks, whether it be through monitoring invasive species or engaging in our adopt-a-park program. Signing up for a park stewardship opportunity through volunteering, interpretation or education will help you connect and give back to the natural resources that form the foundation of our parks.

MY PARKS SERIES: INDIANA’S PRAIRIE PAST

Before corn was planted and soybean seed sown, native prairie made up 15% of Indiana’s landscape. Vast expanses of grass mixed with forbs and the occasional resilient oak created prairie landscapes controlled by grazing and fire. Join us on an interpretive walk through the restored prairie at West Park. You will be led into the past and learn about what animals controlled these native landscapes, and how they are controlled in the present.
