llabas@carmelclayparks.com

Bundle up and grab those inner tubes you used in the summer months and convert them into sleds. Jill's Hill sits in the middle of West Park and is 25 feet high. It's an ideal location for sledding and racing down the hill with or against your family members. Kids also Taking a stroll through West Park in the winter can be breathtaking. enjoy the open space for building forts, snowmen, and snow angels. Wet, dense snow is like sand so it's easy to sculpt. Sand buckets and cake molds are optimal tools for sculpting animals out of snow. Then use bits of nature like twigs and nuts to embellish them. Don't let the winter weather hinder your workout routine. Some of the best winter workouts are sliding from here to there. The 121 acres of West Park and trail system are perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing. Winter is an amazing time of year and it's fun! I can't wait to put on my mittens and scarf, and get outdoors. Let the winter fun begin!

ADAPTIVE What is Adaptive programming? Adaptive programs are exclusively offered to individuals with special needs. We encourage participation by all individuals and abilities. Our adaptive programs target all ages and are designed to meet the leisure needs and interests of individuals with special needs. The instructor to participant ratio is appropriate to accommodate the needs of the participants. We believe that all individuals should be provided leisure opportunities that allow for performance at their highest level. If you or a family member has special needs and would like to participate in programs or use our facility, we will be happy to make reasonable accommodations to meet your needs. Please indicate on the registration form if any accommodations are needed for successful inclusion in a program according to the Americans with Disabilities Act and we will be in contact with you to discuss those requests. Requests for accommodations must be made at least two weeks prior to the session desired. A request for accommodations form may be picked up at the Monon Community Center front desk or found on our website at carmelclayparks.com.
