WORLD HABITAT DAY TREE PLANTING

Plant trees and remove non-native plants on World Habitat Day! We all have the power to shape the future of our cities and ecosystem and World Habitat Day is to reflect on the basic rights of all to adequate shelter. Habitat for plants and animals is a very important aspect of our ecosystem and removing nonnative plants and replacing them with native species is a way to provide essential food and shelter for the wildlife that call our parks home. Vera Hinshaw Preserve is a 10-acre woodland adjacent to the Monon Trail and north of the 96th Street Trailhead. Volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
