If a class is cancelled by Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation, a full refund or a make-up class will be given. For any other reason, a Refund Request Form may be filled out and must be submitted at least 7 days prior to program start date.

All refunds are subject to approval of the Monon Community Center Division Manager and are subject to State Board of Accounts claim procedures. If approved, a full refund, less a $7 service charge, will be given. Check refunds may take up to 3-4 weeks to process.

Calling all dog lovers. We are so excited to bring a dog park to Carmel! The Central Park Bark Park will have benefits for both the community and their pets.

Dog parks are a great resource for your dog to run off-leash to their heart’s content. Your dog will have the opportunity to meet and play with other dogs, run in a large area off-leash, and be safe in a fenced in space. And after your trip to the dog park, don’t be alarmed if your dog is mentally and physically exhausted. They may snooze for hours as they dream about all the fun they had.

The dog park isn’t just a place for the dogs.

People enjoy them too, as it’s a great resource for you to get out in nature and be social. Meet your friends or family members so your pups can play together while you chat.

Park Shelter Information

Request of facilities does not guarantee availability of use. Shelters and restrooms are open sunrise to sunset. Electricity is available at Lawrence W. Inlow Park, River Heritage Park, and West Park. Founders Park Pavilion is not offered for rent and is only available on a shared, first come-first served basis.

Waterpark Features:

Lap pool, Adventure Slides, Lazy River, Plung Slide, FlowRider, AquaClimb, Kiddie Pool, Activity Pool.

Bring your four-legged friend for a dip at The Waterpark and support the Humane Society for Hamilton County! Dog vendors, live music, free swim, and socializing make this event fun for dogs and their families. All owners must sign a liability waiver found on our website and available at the event. Tour de Carmel

Bike along with us on this family-friendly ride as we highlight some of the best parks, businesses, neighborhoods, and fun Carmel has to offer. This is a great way to create memories while promoting fitness. From training wheels to pedal clips, we have a route for you.

Entertainment, food, and celebration will await you at each rest stop and a grand finale at the finish line is sure to keep your energy up!

Participants registered on or before 8/24/2014 will receive a goodie bag and t-shirt. Morning registration/check-in opens 30 minutes prior to the start time listed below and will close at 9:30am sharp.

Mystery at the Palladium

Use your best detective skills to help solve a mystery at the Palladium!

For the first time ever, the Palladium concert hall is transformed into a life-size board game as you and your family work together to solve a “musical mystery” of the missing cello. Luminary Walk

Spend a relaxing evening taking a walk through the winter wonderland at Central Park. Enjoy music and hot chocolate as you take in the ambiance of more than 2,000 luminaries lighting the path through the wetlands, floating over the lagoon, and spanning across the boardwalk. Punt, Pass & Kick

Test your skills and accuracy while punting, passing, and kicking! This national event is open to both boys and girls. Each top scorer will advance to the sectional competition. Division age is determined as of December 31, 2014. The boys and girls compete separately.

This dynamic, advanced workshop will take things to the next level by focusing on two things: further exposing students to the various styles of music, dance, and acting that are employed in the musical theatre and preparing students to audition and perform in a musical.

Additionally, smaller class sizes allow for more individualized coaching.

This newly formatted class for the more experienced young performer provides a challenging and nurturing environment where teamwork is integral. Students will learn advanced exercises that will continue to develop voice and movement techniques while also working on intermediate-level script and character analysis.

We believe that everyone should participate in leisure opportunities that allow for performance at their highest level. If you or a family member would like to participate in programs or use our facility, we are happy to make reasonable accommodations to meet those needs.

ADAPTIVE Adaptive Leisure Lessons

Adaptive Leisure Lessons are educational and fun! These are different than Recreational Therapy because they are not implemented by a therapist, are not goal based, and are not therapy. However, these sessions are implemented by highly experienced and professional Inclusion Facilitator. These sessions could be any of the following, but are not limited to: any type of sport skills, improving fitness levels, educational information, arts and crafts skills, learning to ride a bike, and much more. *Fee includes five 30-minute sessions that are arranged based on staff’s and client’s schedule. Experience the fun and energy of a TurboKick class! This fastpaced and music-driven class uses kicking and boxing techniques to improve cardiovascular endurance. This class is an ultimate cardio challenge!

Zumba ®

A Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with dance steps derived from Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Reggaeton, Hip hop, Mambo, Rhumba, Flamenco, Calypso and even Swing! The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms. It targets areas such as the glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and the heart. Zumba instructors often add on their own music choices and choreographies to make their class presentation locally unique.

A non-stop cardio fusion of standing Pilates and boxing that will push you to a new fitness level.

Cycling

Cycling is a great cardiovascular workout on a specially designed stationary bike. This class uses various resistance levels and speeds as the instructor sends you racing along and climbing hills.

F.I.T.T. Low Impact

These rides occur as part of the regular weekly group fitness schedule and are open to all guest. Drop ins are welcome for $8.

Stop by any MCC desk to purchase your pass. Theme rides refer to the music played during the workout. Guests can expect special surprises such as Trivia questions, small prizes, & decorations.

Aqua Cardio

Non-stop shallow water work out to get your heart pumping with cardio activity involving all major muscle groups. Modifications can be made to accommodate all fitness levels.

Aqua Zumba

Splash your way into shape! Aqua Zumba is a low-impact aerobic “pool party”! This class blends traditional aquatic fitness movements with the Zumba dance format to bring you a cardio-conditioning, body-toning exercise class.

Gentle Aqua

A great intro to aquatic fitness! Make full use of the low impact and resistance of the water for a full shallow water workout. The goals are to increase your overall cardio conditioning, strength and flexibility.

Walking track

Participants walk against the current in the Lazy River Pool to build muscles and increase stamina. Class will also include a warm-up and cool down. Water shoes are highly recommended.

AQUA BOOT CAMP

A water fitness workout will improve your cardiovascular fitness, increase strength, endurance and flexibility. Prepare for some intense movement to get your body in shape and achieve maximum results through this fun and challenging total body workout that provides maximum impact on joints!
