Just like a coach makes mid-game adjustments to a game plan, making proactive adjustments to your financial plan as life happens allows you potentially better outcomes.

Indiana Master Naturalist

The Indiana Master Naturalist (IMN) program offers hands-on opportunities to learn about our natural resources. The mission of the IMN program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soil and wildlife while promoting volunteer service in local communities. To complete the IMN program, you must attend at least six of the eight classes and complete 24 volunteer hours within one year of taking the class. At the completion of the course, you will receive an official IMN certificate and pin. No class on 10/12.

CITIZEN SCIENCE PRE-REQUISITE

Calling all nature enthusiasts! We are looking for curious people who want to engage with the natural resources at our parks through skilled observation and data collection. Are you interested in learning more about native plants? This pre-requisite class will teach you intermediate level plant identification skills and how to use the application, iNaturalist, to document your observations. We will start inside to cover identification basics, then head outside to practice your new skills. Attendance in this program is required if you are interested in joining the Citizen Science volunteer program.

Winter Botany Hike

Join us on the first day of winter for a stroll around Central Park. You will learn how to identify common prairie and woodland plants and will search for some small plants under the leaf litter. Bring a hand lens and ID book if you have one and remember to dress for the weather!

Are you interested in art but don’t know where to start? Are you looking for a creative outlet to increase your overall physical and mental health? In our Adult Artist Series, it’s never too late to discover the world of art! Local artist Zach Lowe will guide you through individualized, hands-on activities designed to explore your creative interests and reap the many mind-body-spirit benefits of creating art. This series is a judgement-free space for artists of all skill sets to find out what they’re passionate about and have fun! Each session will focus on experimenting with different media and art concepts. All materials will be provided.

Have a passion and a love for photography? Photography Club is the perfect place for all aspiring photographers, even if you have never picked up a camera before. Our program focuses on the fundamentals, concepts, and practices that make great photos. You will find yourself growing as you work with a wide variety of real-world exercises and by engaging in friendly classroom critiques. Our program adapts to you and your own aspirations as a photographer.

Self Healing Through Reflexology

Learn how to practice reflexology in an effort to improve your overall health and wellness. Reflexology can be helpful in reducing muscle and joint pain and restoring the balance of internal health. A variety of simple, yet gentle, techniques will be introduced through hands-on practice by David Cao and Tina Tian.. No equipment is needed.

30 MINUTE TAI CHI INTRODUCTION

Get in your 30 minutes of recommended daily exercise as you experience the health and wellness benefits of Tai Chi. The class begins with mindful breathing and a series of gentle warm-ups. You’ll then follow the instructor step-by-step through a flowing, easy to learn “Tai Chi for Life” routine designed to improve balance and flexibility, increase muscle strength and bone density, burn calories, and reduce stress. Participants should wear loose-fitting clothing and flat soled shoes.

30 MINUTE TAI CHI PRACTICE GROUP

Join us to practice your Tai Chi and Qigong skills for a manageable 30 minutes a week. Regular practice of correct movements will ensure that you obtain the full mind-body benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong while also staying safe. Each class includes warm-ups and stretching, a variety of Tai Chi forms (Sun, Yang and Chen styles) and Qigong postures. Participants must have previously completed 30 Minute Tai Chi Introduction.
