We Love volunteers! When did you last take time out of your busy day to help others? Volunteering is an easy, heartwarming way to give back and make an impact not only on other’s lives, but yours as well.
Lindsay Labas Marketing Manager llabas@carmelclayparks.com
Here are just a few benefits of volunteering. Make a difference. Give back to the community. Achieve a sense of accomplishment. Meet outstanding people who care about the community and our mission. Acquire community service hours for school, projects, etc. Earn recommendations for future employment or college. And finally, HAVE FUN! You’re donating your valuable time, so it’s important you enjoy the benefit and find a volunteer position that is a good fit. If you’re looking for a place to start, visit the “Volunteer with Us” page on carmelclayparks.com and check out our opportunities with events, adaptive programs, and our before and after school program. Many of our Department’s programs and events wouldn’t be as successful without the help of volunteers. Thank you to those who have and continue to volunteer with us, and we hope to see some new faces volunteering with us this summer!

SUCCESS ON STAGE 8-14 years
Have a transformational summer under the big lights! Success on Stage is the place for campers drawn to the magic of theatre. Choose the Performance side, where you’ll get the chance to act, sing, and dance on stage, or the Production side, where you’ll create backdrops, costumes, and props, and learn how to work lights and sound for a real production. Due to popular demand, this summer we are focusing solely on musicals. The first half of the summer we’ll dig up some comedy in Young Dracula (aka The Singing Bat), and the second half we’ll create the Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast. Each production will take place on a Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. and host a reception afterwards. Each production window of 4 weeks includes two field trips and swimming on Wednesdays except performance weeks. The ratio of staff-to-camper is a minimum of 1-to-10. Campers will need to bring their own sack lunch and snacks. Campers registering for Performance camp will need to register for the entire production timeframe and be able to commit to daily rehearsals, as well as the actual dress rehearsal and performance (4 weeks). For the Production camp, campers are welcome to sign up weekly. For full summer option, please note Production or Performance. Amidst all the fun, we will have a chance to cool down at The Waterpark at the Monon Community Center every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and travel off-site for a field trip every Tuesday and Thursday. You’re On The Air
Voice-overs are hot today! You don’t have to be an actor to get voice-over work, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. With such notable talent as Morgan Freeman, Glenn Close, and Alec Baldwin lending their voices to commercials, films, and videos, one would think that it would be next to impossible to break into this field. Not so! In this class, learn about an exciting new way to get around the competition and actually turn voice-overs into a full and thriving business!
The IMN Program will offer hands-on opportunities to learn about our natural resources. The mission of the IMN program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils, wildlife, and to promote volunteer service in local communities.
