Cottontails is a class designed for children who are ready for more of a challenge than the Thumpers class, but are not quite ready to be on the field without a parent or caregiver. The Cottontails curriculum is designed to build fundamental skills such as balance, coordination, and ball skills. Cottontail classes also help your child build a sense of independence. As children progress through the sessions and become ready for more independence, parents can choose to transition to a less active role in the class, helping prepare the child to transition to the next level.  Ages: 2.5-3.5 years • Instructor: Off the Wall Sports • Location: Off the Wall Sports   Activity#

Disability Awareness Month “I like you just the way you are.”

March is Disability Awareness Month and The Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities theme for March 2016 is, “I Like You Just the Way You Are.” We strongly believe that all community members are unique, important, and valuable. This year we have partnered with Best Buddies of Indiana to produce a beautiful performance about passions, trials, and strengths written and performed by people with disabilities called, “I SEE YOU.” The first act of “I SEE YOU” will be monologues written by people with disabilities about their life experiences. During the second act audience members will receive the opportunity to tell stories that will be performed on the spot by The Roundabout Playback Troupe. The Roundabout Playback Troupe is an inclusive group of actors with and without disabilities that use music, movement, and improvisation to perform stories. Join us for this unique and special performance on March 18th or 19th at 6pm at the Monon Community Center. You can purchase your tickets today at the East or West Desks for only $5. During March take a picture of someone you love at either our community center or one of our parks and use the hashtag #ccpr #ilikeyou. We want to create awareness that all people are wonderful just the way they are. We will announce picture winners at our March 18th and 19th performances. Winners will receive one free Waterpark cabana rental to use this summer! Please join us this March to help increase awareness and create acceptance for all people.

CCPR believes every individual has the right to participate in activities and programs that supports their physical, mental, social and emotional wellness, and therefore contribute to enhancing their overall quality of life. CCPR is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act through making reasonable modifications as required by the ADA. Requests for modifications must be made through one of CCPR’s Inclusion Supervisors within 30 days of the start of the program of interest. CCPR will provide reasonable modifications as soon as possible after the commencement of the modification process. Specific criteria will be found on registration documentation. In addition, CCPR is dedicated to non-discrimination in the provision of programs, services and activities to the public. CCPR will continue to incorporate all consumer feedback, current research and practice knowledge in order to continue meeting and exceeding customer/community satisfaction and to protect and promote access for all for generations to come.
