Dear Patriot Nation,

Welcome to our annual Patriot Gala, a night of food, music, and fun with a purpose. While we have been saying all year that our theme is balance, tonight is the night to let loose and go all out to support our students and our school. There are some things worth going to extremes for, and our kids and their futures top the list.

Carrollwood Day School is at an exciting moment in its history, with record reenrollment and interest in every grade, recognition on national platforms for everything from character education to faculty and staff expertise, and daily accolades for our students in sports, performing arts, academics, and service. CDS Patriots are traveling the world through Round Square, creating innovative solutions to global problems using cutting-edge technology, and always, in the classroom and on the field, demonstrating the strength of character that defines our school.

Tonight we ask you to think about all of the ways we enhance our students’ lives by providing a balance of academic and co-curricular opportunities for them to explore. We pride ourselves on having an academic program second to none, but a CDS life is about more than the work of the classroom. We provide enrichments and activities at every level, from robotics, to speech and debate, to music ensembles, to an athletic program that is sending 20% of this graduating class to play at the next level. Our paddle raise this year will ask for your support to enhance these extracurricular programs even more, by investing in top-notch enrichment instruction, new materials for our STEM-centric clubs, scholarships for international travel, and more. Your support can make the difference between good and great for our kids as they discover their passions and find their voices through our clubs, activities, and after-school programs. I am grateful for your contributions that will help us help them live full lives of fun and purpose.

I am particularly grateful to the Mullane family and Parks Lincoln, our sixyear title sponsor, and to the countless parents, faculty, staff, and students who have contributed to helping make tonight's 30th Annual Patriot Gala a success. At the forefront of this event is our Special Events Coordinator, Sharon Spencer. Thank you for all you do to support our school.
