Weaving technique provides us a more flexible structure. However, due to the scale and the complexity, weaving structure is difficult to be applied in an architectural environment. To control the flexibility of a larger-scale weaving structure system, a program of robotic weaving was seen as a solution. We tr y to translate the traditional weaving to a robotic weaving language in various ways, such as materials, methods, weaving tech, and machine. In our robotic weaving program, various weaving units which support different loads can be found to apply on all prototypes, like a wall, a floor,or a chair.

The holding of extrusion machine and the lengthening of the extrusion head (nozzle) are also a task in this program. Eventhough the PLA printing is now a common technology in 3D printing, it is still challenging to print by a robotic arm since we need to find suitable tool to print, to design how to hold the tool with robotic arm, and, moreover, to improve the original tool, etc. Fo r i n s t a n c e , i n c a s e o f o u r extrusion nozzle crashed what had printed, we decieded to design a whole new one lengthened nozzle.
11
Material Behaviour
12
Sufficient material behaviour printing test help us decide some critical value due to the material limitation. It is also noteworthy that we take advantage of robtic "real" 3-dimension printing ability to print something what an FDM 3D printer cannot print. That is, during the material behaviour printing test, we print what is challenging and what would be printed in our weaving system, like bridge length and inclination angel.
13
Weaving and Deformation Control
Printing Order
14
By selecting certain projected length and angles to remove to control the deformation.
To keep from crashing printed things wh e n m o v i n g , i t ’ s i mp o r t a n t t o arrange the order. It seems to be a great order to print the X direction first, then Y direction, then Z. In other words, it’s from front to back, from left to right, then from bottom to top.
15
Force Analysis and Deformation
16
This project can provide enough flexibility to users so that wall or other elements of architecture could be a soft and flexible in the future.
Flexibility can be controled by giving appropriate nodes, and deformation length can be adjusted easily by giving multiple numbers of nodes and angle filter.

How would the architecture have become after a disaster happened in the future? After the rising of sea level, it is necessary to rebuild a new city. However, it seems more important to think about the representation of an urban. The content of a society, humanality, and history should be thought into the new design, which brings the relationships between people back.

The Rise of Sea Level
D ue t o t h e p ro g re s s ive gl ob a l warming, the rise of sea level is clearly predictable. Architects need to rethink the living spaces in the future. Moreover, the polluted water is diff icult for people to use. Meanwhile, it seems more i mp o r t a n t t o t h i n k a b o u t t h e representation of human history and social relationships rather than redesigning a whole new urban.
This program provides not only sufficient living spaces floating on the water but also complete communities equiping perfect living funtions, which represent the human society.

Predictable And Pre-constructible
According to the Science megazine, the speed of sea level rising is faster than predicted. The sea level has climbed approximately 0.2m during the last 100 years. Since the temperature keeps climbing, the sea level seems to jump over 1.4m before 2100s. What is also noteworthy is that the rise of sea level is a disaster which happens slowly but keeps going, which means architects need to develop a long-run urban planning instead of a temperorary housing. Since the rise of sea level is predictable, we can construct them before the situation gets worse.

Coral reefs are seen as a symbol
It is interesting to note that coral reefs reveals some amazing combination ways. Furthermore, coral reefs are also an important sign of water pollution. As a result, they can be seen as a symbol of ocean to represent the insular (island) characteristics.
Based on the concept of coral reefs, analysing their features helps construct a "living pod" to intake needed people. In this case, people seems like a clownf ish in a sea anemones. The sea anemone for clownfish means the living pod for people in this project.

As the most prosp erou s area before, Taichung's central district involves residents' memory. Now, however, it seems to disappear. The site I chosed located besides the main road, where a popular shopping mall located on before. Trying to tear down and rebuild the existing volume to attract more people and eventually form a fashion-relative industry area or even an EXPO in Taichung.

Central District, Before and Now
The central district was the most properous area during the period from Japanese colony gerneration. However, it seems to be an old and dead area nowadays since there's no more young people staying here or any new building was constructed here.
Eventhough there's some hot spots are located in this district discretely and even the new Taichung station, people always come here only for those certain spots and then leave. How to connect the relationships between the new hot spots and those dead areas would be a tough problem.

The fashionable Yongqi Department Stores As the first department store which leads the fashion industry in Taiwan, Yongqi Dept. Store is a memorable history in residents' heart. Now, the building of Yongqi still stands there in central district, but the people and the stores didn't exist anymore. I try to plan the whole new urben block to shape a fashion industry and consume area and to attract poeple stay to explore the city at the same time.

Fashion EXPO: a hanger, a container
To re m e m b e r a n d m e m o r i z e t h e special hostory of Yongqi, the concept of the new building would be a vertical fashion EXPO, providing the space to hold the fashion events and business.
The shape of building is transformed by the concept of a hanger. Like a hanger hangs the clothings in a free way, the new building hangs different functional spaces. These "clothings" district the differnt use of space, including the space of shopping, studios, exhibitions, and even hotel space. And like the backstage space in a fashion show, the backstage space in the department store is also seperated by the "clothings".

How to revive a district by renewing a wasted building? How can a building dedicate to a city?
The Fantasy Company invites us to reconstruct an old building as a new exhibition and selling area. What is more important that the Fantasy Company is going to do is that to regenerate the old central district of Taichung.
Therefore, the issue how to revive a dead area by lighting up a new spot as a node would be considered firstly.

Old facade, dead site, and newborn architecture
As an old district of Taichung where is on the centre, the site is very potential to revive the community around it, which could connect other newborn districts at the same time. Just like other works of the Fantacy Story company, the aim of this project is to lighten the original old building, making people get together on this dead and silent site again. Instead of overhauling all the old building, the new design remains the old facade as a design method. Remenber the permanent memories, and explore the new space.
