New Vice President at Rose Community Foundation

Benny Samuels has been appointed to serve as Rose Community Foundation’s vice president of programs. In this role Samuels will lead the Foundation’s grantmaking team at a pivotal moment following the launch of a new strategic plan. The vice president of programs will direct the staff of the programs department in granting approximately $10 million annually in the seven-county Greater Denver area. “I am enthusiastic and humbled by the opportunity to create impact alongside the team and philanthropists of the foundation,” said Samuels. Samuels recently served as the chief operating offi cer for Nurse-Family Partnership, which serves more than 36,000 young women and their babies in 41 states and 6 tribal nations. As COO, she managed a $15M budget and led teams in developing and implementing strategic plans, expanding and scaling their programs, leveraging philanthropic partnerships and investments, and piloting feedback loops to capture the insights of their clients and drive innovation. Prior to becoming COO, she served as Nurse-Family Partnership’s Chief Marketing Offi cer. She was born in Panamá.

Leading voter engagement

Victor Galvan is the new Political Field Director at United For A New Economy (UNE) and UNE Action. Galvan will lead UNE’s voter engagement efforts. “We are excited for Victor’s leadership, especially given the enormous opportunities to ensure every Coloradan is heard in the 2020 elections. Galvan brings with him all the passion and skill he developed through his work in the Immigrant Rights Movement both locally and nationally to UNE’s economic justice campaigns”, said UNE’s pre ss release. From 2020 to the present, Galvan held different positions in the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC). He served as the Director of Federal Campaigns and the Director of Membership and Engagement. Previously, Galvan had been the Civic Engagement and License Campaign Manager in The Justice For All Center. “I think this is a good opportunity for me. I’m going to work to build the community power necessary to create a thriving economy that benefi ts everyone in Colorado,” said Galvan.
