LIGHTING THE WAY
FOR ONE EVENING IN APRIL 2022, CASTILLEJA’S CIRCLE TRANSFORMED INTO A LIVELY AND SPIRITED VENUE FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL VIEW360 SYMPOSIUM. It was a truly beautiful night for our community—from the twinkling lights under the palms to the warm conversations after time apart to the inspiring mission to support equity in education. Founded 15 years ago to raise funds for Castilleja’s tuition assistance program, View360 also brings together our community to share learning by hearing from inspiring speakers. Reflecting on the theme of DIGNITY, this year’s speakers were Thomas Friedman, The New York Times best-selling author and foreign affairs columnist; Ailsa Chang, NPR host of All Things Considered; Amy Purdy, Paralympic Silver and Bronze medalist and three-time World Cup medalist; Ashley Williams, anchor for Good Day Sacramento and previous correspondent for Entertainment Tonight; and Ann B. Friedman, founder and Board Chair of Planet Word. To kick off the evening, the Chapkis Dance Family shared their captivating choreography and rich talent. This year’s event raised $1.6 million, enabling Castilleja to deliver on its commitment to advancing socio-economic diversity and creating a learning environment where every student brings a unique perspective.
