Promo+ng our Castle Rock lifestyle and community by promo+ng and conduc+ng award winning community events such as Starligh+ng, ArRest, WineFest, Douglas County Fair Parade, Job Fairs, Horizon Luncheons and other educa+onal programs. Each year our events grow, improve and receive more awards and recogni+on. Fostering successful and sustainable businesses and employees through our Worksite Wellness Rocks! program. Developing community leaders through the chamber's Leadership Douglas County program. LDC graduates are in leadership posi+ons throughout Douglas County and Castle Rock including government, public safety and private business. The tangible results of the chamber's development of such leaders are immeasurable. Visible results include LDC class projects throughout Douglas County including the 9-11 Monument in downtown Castle Rock. The chamber's commitment to developing cataly+c leaders is more important than ever as the future gets more poli+cally divisive. Strengthening the local economy by assis+ng local businesses via the chamber's two wonderful websites, eXceIerate Business Development (EBD) program, partnering with the Douglas County Business Alliance, Economic Development Council and other organiza+ons, represen+ng member businesses on the GAP Coali+on to address 125 issues, the chamber's free business counseling services to local businesses, being a partner in workforce development projects such as the Workforce Pipeline venture and assis+ng in the approval and beginning of construc+on of the Collabora+on Campus in Castle Rock. Represen+ng business to government through the chamber's Government Interests Commi;ee, DCBA lobbying efforts, advoca+ng to government on behalf of business and educa+ng chamber members and the public through our Candidate Forums and Horizon Luncheons. Developing business rela+onships and partnerships through the numerous networking and volunteer opportuni+es available to chamber members. From our leads groups, Business AUer Hours, Business Over Breakfasts, Women of Influence and our incredible Chamber Ambassadors program, every day presents several ways to network with other chamber members. I am oUen approached by members who comment that the Castle Rock Chamber works best for those members who take advantage of the many opportuni+es our chamber offers. Improving our processes, ideas and offerings for every level of chamber membership. The Castle Rock Chamber's crea+on of the Castle Rock Chamber Founda+on and applica+on for accredita+on from the US Chamber of Commerce demonstrate our commitment to con+nuous improvement and excellence. Our Execu+ve Commi;ee's commitment to developing leadership con+nuity at every level of our chamber also informs the Castle Rock Chamber's commitment to the future.
While I am honored to report all of the chamber's successes this past year, we face challenges in the future that require all of us to con+nue to improve and seek collabora+ve solu+ons to our changing world and evolving issues. The Chamber’s Government Interests Commi;ee (GIC) provides our business community with a proac+ve voice and advocate regarding governmental issues; and promotes economic interests, which contributes to the quality of life of Castle Rock. This program facilitates communica+on and educa+on between the business community, local, and state governments. A variety of elected officials, concerned members and businesspeople meet to discuss and clarify issues that are affec+ng our community today, tomorrow and in the future. Quarterly Horizon Luncheons also offer an opportunity to make connec+ons with our community leaders. Western Associa+on of Chamber Execu+ves Honors Pam Ridler’s long-term of service Russell Lahodny, presented the service award plaque to Pam Ridler, Chamber President/CEO for her 25 years of service in chamber of commerce management at the Western Associa+on of Chamber Execu+ves Annual Conference in February. Pam Ridler became the President/CEO of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce in 1998. Prior to her posi+on with the Castle Rock Chamber, she worked for six years as the Vice-President of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. Pam got her start in the nonprofit arena as director of the United Way of Ellis County in Hays Kansas. Pam earned her undergraduate and masters degrees from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. She is a Cer+fied Chamber Execu+ve in 2006, which is the only na+onal cer+fica+on for chamber professionals. Pam is also a graduate of the US Chamber of Commerce Ins+tute for Organiza+on Management class of 2000. She currently services as Vice-President of the Western Associa+on of Commerce Execu+ves (WACE).
Congratula+ons Alicia on your outstanding commitment & dedica+on! Alicia Early, Director of Membership Development, was part of the gradua+ng class of 2017 to receive their gradua+on cer+ficates at the W.A.C.E. Annual Conference in Henderson, NV on February 9, 2018. Forty-seven (47) class members began their Academy journey in 2015, with twenty-eight (28) comple+ng the three-year course in 2017. 7

Chamber adds talented event planner and entrepreneur to staff Castle Rock Chamber is happy to announce the addi+on of Danielle Odil to our chamber staff. Danielle brings a wealth of event management skills to the Chamber, with more than 10 years of experience in Event Planning and Corporate Events. Danielle is also an entrepreneur as the owner/lead consultant of Something Classic Events. In her most recent posi+ons Danielle wore many hats as the Curator/ Principal Crea+ve Architect at Entwined Planning, in addi+on to the Office Manager/Bookkeeper and Principal's Secretary at Lewis— Palmer School District. She is a strong entrepreneurship professional with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) focused in Business Administra+on and Management from Colorado State University. BUILDING COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP— Developing Leaders in Douglas County Thank you to our February venue and meals sponsor: Douglas County Libraries The LDC Class of 2018 went back to school in February gaining insight into the trends and challenges seen in pre-k—12 and higher educa+on in Douglas County, including the impacts in growth, funding needs and the design of schools to meet 21st century learning objec+ves. Par+cipants also learned more about the new higher educa+on op+on coming to the county with the construc+on of the ACC Collabora+on Campus in Castle Rock. In addi+on, Douglas County Libraries demonstrated how they have refined their business model to provide the community with resources and educa+onal opportuni+es that prepare ci+zens for lifelong learning. Speakers throughout the day included Sharon Nemecheck, Sheila Kerber and Erica Cole/ Douglas County Libraries, Sco;y Mar+n/ ReVision, Inc., Stephanie Grose/TreanorHL Architecture, Tom Stone/Adolfson & Peterson Construc+on, Diana Doyle/ACC Collabora+on Campus and Erin Kane/Douglas County School District.
