Season outlook: “The girls’ soccer team worked hard all summer to prepare for the season. As a result, the team had a an amazing preseason due to their commitment to be fit and to build a strong sense of family within the team. The players have set a high standard of work rate in training that will translate into success on and off the field. The top-notch senior leadership has been directed toward individual development and team goals. This talented group is preparing to defend their City and Sectional tournament championships but wants more. The team believes it has the ability to win the State championship and is training to reach their potential. The journey should be amazing.” – Behringer Next match: The team will travel to Zionsville tomorrow to take on the Eagles at 11:30 a.m.
Volleyball Head coach: Ms. Jean Kesterson Previous coaching experience: Kesterson has served as head coach for 25 years. Assistant coaches: Ms. Rhonda Low and Ms. Mary Ording ’09. Last year’s record: The team finished 36-0. Last year’s highlights: National champions and 4A State champions. Key returnees: Seniors Cassie Brooks, Shelby Mudd, Nia Robinson, Olivia Rougraff, Maria Schorr, Evey Trausch and Payton White; junior Mattie Norris. Team captains: Brooks, Mudd, Robinson, Rougraff, Schorr, Trausch and White. Season outlook: “Our goal is to have another banner year. Our biggest strength is that we have a lot of returning players that know how to win big matches. “Our program’s philosophy is to get better every practice, we want to improve each week. If we do this, the wins will take care of themselves. Another philosophy of our program is to embrace the grind, have as much fun and intensity in practice as we do in big matches and to love the sport of volleyball. “We travel to the Providence Invitational to take on several state-ranked teams. We host one of the key tournaments in the country on Sept. 24 with seven of Indiana’s top program battling for the hardware.” – Kesterson
