Kuzio Farms

KUZ Red Addiction

15M

This Addiction son is a calving ease specialist and one that could be used in the heifer pen. He is clean fronted and has a nice head in a structurally correct package. His dam KUZ 69H is a model cow with a great udder.

A dark red heavy haired Next Century son with a little bit of fleck in his pedigree going back to the great legend bull on the cows side. KUZ 14m is great footed and will pass on this trait and be a foot improver.

Farms

KUZ Red Cash Man 23M

Wow factor here with this blood red heavy haired Next Century herd sire prospect. KUZ 23m is one of those calves that was impressive from a very young age and has not stopped. A complete package that has to be seen in person to be appreciated. His dam is coloured the same way and is a front pasture type female with excellent foot and udder quality. Will be drawing semen for in herd use.

Century 13M A dark red heavy haired power bull. He is thick, stout made, wide topped but still moves out freely on a good set of feet and legs. Dam is a larger framed power cow with a good udder and dark red in colour.

Kuzio Farms

KUZ Red Century 22M

A Next Century son that is lower set, thick and well balanced. A solid beef bull that will add power and performance to his calf crop. Strong footed with an easy moving style.

Another powerful Next Century son that is long bodied, deep ribbed, big quartered and wide topped. His dam is a heavy milking, good uddered power cow that always gets the job done.

A dark red Next Century son that is long bodied and clean fronted with straight lines. KUZ 12m is backed by a productive cow family with good udders.

KUZ 712K did a great job raising her first calf. This Sheriff sired son is a thick meat machine but should be easy calving being out of the calving ease master Sheriff. KUZ 19m will improve udders on his daughters.

Farms

KUZ Mr Red Fleck 15L

KUZ 15L’s dam is a dark red goggle eyed full fleck cow. The combination of Red purebred on full fleck cows always seems to make a

The combination of Approval and Bootlegger worked well here with the traits coming through on this future herd sire. 2m has a thick heavy coat, extra rib kinda length with a good hip. He strides out proudly on a good set of feet and legs. A mid February born calf.

KUZ Pretty Boy 18M

Another Jester son that has a pedigree to be a great herd bull. KUZ 18m is a blazed faced power bull in the making. Being a March born calf he is just starting to show his future potential. A good combination of calving ease with performance and power. He has a great set of feet from a cow family that are foot improvers.

KUZ Mr Black Tank 31M

KUZ 31m is the natural calf from our black flush cow WLB 52Z Tara 3612D. He is also a march born son of Jester that is starting to catch up to the January calves. 31m is stout made, wide topped with a good quarter and hip. Very sound set of feet and legs and moves out freely. He is getting better each day!

Kuzio Farms KUZ Mr Barricuta

This Barracuda son is well balanced, clean fronted but also exhibiting ample muscling and depth of rib. He is free moving with a good foot. His dam comes from a cow family that improves udder quality.

KUZ 702K did a great job raising her first calf out of Right Now. Right Now is a AI bull that I used on heifers with great success, they come easy and are up sucking in no time. Calving ease top and bottom in 3m’s pedigree, he should be ideal to breed your second calvers.

This LRX Sterling son is out of a young Shear Force cow that is picture perfect. She has a True North heifer calf this year that might be the best in the pen. KUZ 5m is smooth made, well balanced with a great foot under him.

An embryo calf from the heart of Grinalta’s herd and their beloved Cherry cow. KUZ 4m is smooth made, with extra rib kinda length of body. Smooth polled, 100% fleckvieh. Homo polled test pending.

KUZ Mr Molson 16M

APPOLLO 3F

We are slowly getting back into raising full bloods again but when you raise one like this maybe we should be speeding up the process a little more, KUZ 16m is one that wont be hard to find on sale day, his powerful stature makes you pay attention to him. With his geno and phenotype, I think he will sire both female and male offspring of the highest quality. Coming from a no miss cow family only sweetens the deal!

Ty-D Livestock

We can’t thank our customers and supporters over the years enough. Thank you to all who bid and bought last year, we’ve been so grateful to hear such positive feedback on the 2023 bull purchases!

We now welcome you to the 4th Annual Kuzio Farms & Ty-D Livestock Bull Sale! Every year we are excited to pre-sent a new pen of bulls with the same values in mind. It’s important to us to offer bulls grown with longevity in mind, that are less likely to melt down during breeding, and bulls that will get out and travel to cover cows. The bulls are on a bull grower pellet, free-choice loose mineral, and have been triple vaccinated. They’re vaccinated with Nasalgen at a week old, get Vista Once and Vision 8 before they go to pasture, and again in the fall along with injectable Bimectin.

We’ve spent the past year chasing after our feral 3-year-old son who lives and breathes everything ranching - he’s very excited to offer his very first bull in this year’s sale!

Please feel free to stop in to walk through the bull pen anytime. The coffee is hot and the beer is cold!

Special Thank-You’s

It takes a village to get these bulls sale ready. We’d like to say thank you to both of our parents who, throughout the year, help us with feeding and watch Lawson while we are getting work done or gone away to shows and sales (and Grandma Bertie who always comes to Olds to feed us and watch Lawson on show day!) To James Foley and Kiara Stasiuk for feeding and taking care of everything while we were at Agribition. To our fantastic show help this year: Layla, Hayley, Shana Lee, Payton, and Sarah - who is also our amazing chiropractor sponsor, and to everyone and anyone who helped fit or hold a can and paper towel by the show ring! Thank you to Arch for helping Ty get the bulls clipped and torched for pictures, and to Shana Lee, Payton, Quinn, Paige, Dylan, Layne, and Darlene for helping picture the bulls! Thank you to the whole team at Vermilion Livestock Exchange for doing a fantastic job on last year’s bull sale. And a huge thank you to everyone in our corner who’s cheered us on throughout the year!

Ty, Taylor & Lawson

TY-D'S Unlimited Elegance 29M

GG State of Elegance 16K “Ella” was the female we took out all year as a yearling in 2023. She was the most decorated show female of any breed in all of Canada, bringing home over 50 banners in the year. It’s always fun to have success in shows, but at the end of the day, those cattle need to prove themselves in production. We feel that Ella is quickly doing that. We always hope for a heifer out of these show females, but she gave us a bull and she made him good! He’s rugged, extremely attractive, productive with a moderate birthweight, HAIRY, and floats around on sound feet and legs. We already have maternal sisters on the ground this year through embryo transfer, and they are equally as stout and hairy. Whether you are looking for a bull to sire purebred or commercial calves, males or females, this dude checks all the boxes!

29M
- CHAMPION YEARLING HEIFER AT ARCOLA 2023

Ty-D Livestock

“Creed” has been a standout since the second he hit the ground. He’s never had an off day. He’s big, hairy, quiet, stout, and possesses a ton of bone. His mother is a big cow who milks better than any nurse cow we’ve had around here. This guy will be a big time herd sire in any operation - purebred or commercial.

When Lawson was born, we had 3 flush sisters out of Ty’s old 4H cow and long-time donor, Beech Bro Western Star. Of those 3 sisters, 36J was the only blaze face, so she was the easy choice for Lawson’s first heifer! He had some bad luck her first calf year with a C-section. Despite having an infection after the C-section, she still bred back and calves early - showing how resilient and fertile this young cow is! We are so pleased with the absolute knock out of a bull 1M is. He has a pile of hair, bone and is big time stout. His sire, “Westy”, is one of those bulls that just keeps paying for himself over and over. He is easily the best investment we’ve ever made in a herd sire, and 1M is his clone in black.

FULL BROTHER TO DAM

Ty-D Livestock

TY-D'S Out West 38M

38M is only one of two reds we have to offer this year, and the only red performance type bull. The consistency in these Westy sons is like no other. They’re largely productive, hairy, pleasant to be around, and work on all types of females. 47C is one of three Wheatland Bull 356A daughters we have, and year after year they all prove why they’re still our among the top of our program. 38M is backed by strong, proven parents on both the top and the bottom side.

TY-D'S Century Rancher 8M

We really contemplated showing 8M, but we decided to keep our string light this year. This guy is extremely attractive through his front end and out of his shoulder, yet still carries a big top and hip. We have really liked the Next Century cattle and what they bring to the table. The daughters are also proving to us that they’re great mothers with lots of milk. 2J is a pretty, moderate, good uddered black baldy Ranch Hand daughter who is con-sistently earning her keep.

Cow families are extremely important to us. This cow family is one of our strongest. We always say that you couldn’t breed a bad udder into this line. We have used bulls from this line and their daughters carry flawless udders just the same. At 10 years old, 45C boasts the udder of a 2 year old show cow. 43M is among the first calf crop by 2211K and we are very pleased with them. They’re growthy, sound, and smooth shouldered - with 43M being no exception.

TY-D'S Rancher

We purchased this set of embryos from Wilson Stock Farm and, of course, we had hoped to retain a female from this mating, but we got a bull. If it was up to Taylor we would be keeping him, but we nearly have as many herd bulls around here as we have cows. This guy is easy to pick out in the pen. He’s an attractive type bull with a strong top and nice set to his pastern. This genetic combination is highly sought after in the industry, so don’t miss out!

Ty-D Livestock

31J is a full sister to Lawson’s 36J cow - the mother of 1M. Coliseum had a successful show career for South Paw Cattle Co and Black Gold - we really admired him for his soundness, capacity, and bone, which made it an easy choice to invest in his genetics when offered by South Paw! 37M

made bull that boasts the same accolades as his sire.

I’ve mentioned before the uniformity of the Westy projeny - all summer we had a tough time telling 11M and 1M apart at first glance. 11M’s dam is a moderate black white faced daughter of our old herd sire, a Profit son, Stewart Rake It In 14G, who did a lot of good in our program. 11M is a moderate bull with lots of hair, bone, and is very docile.

SIRE

3M is one of our calving ease options who’s first calf mother stems back to that 86U/45C cow family that carries the very best udders, and a big Skor female who produced some good cattle for ourselves and Bast’s. We have used Fully Loaded very successfully on first calf heifers. 3M is small-headed, smooth shouldered, came easy and with a moderate birthweight. Owned with Jayshaw Simmentals

30M is our second red in the offering and he just so happens to have the highly sought after blaze. He’s another calving ease option being out of a first calf heifer and a highly proven calving ease sire. 30M has good CE numbers in terms of EPDs, and in terms of phenotype he is long-bodied and smooth made.

She is nice to be around and she takes her job seriously when bringing her calves home to wean. I would love to have a whole herd of this cow’s daughters. 31M has been a standout just the same. He’s stout, soggy bellied, attractive, and sound moving. This guy is good!

Crossing these picturesque Angus mommas on good Simmental bulls has been working really nicely for us. The F1 daughters are making fantastic cows and we’ve had nothing but great feedback on the bulls! This first calf crop of 2211K’s has impressed us just the same, and they are showing tight uniformity across both the purebreds and the percentages! This bull has been a looker and a grower all year. His Angus mother is more of a land whale than a cow, but has awesome feet and a beautiful udder - her daughters in production here are no different. This bull is going to get the job done putting pounds on the feeders and making daughters you’ll want in production.

DAM'S UDDER PICTURED AT 11 YEARS OLD

Ty-D Livestock

TY-D'S West Harvest 224B 5M

Not only does Westy sire the top of the purebred pen, but he also crosses amazingly on Angus females. To be honest, we think Westy could breed a goat and it would still turn out plum good.

5M’s dam is a daughter of SAV Harvestor, who has made his mark in the Angus breed. 224B just keeps outdoing herself for us, producing big time F1 bull calves.

5M is a long-bodied bull with a big frame.

SVM Equine Therapy keeps our cattle and horses feeling their very best through chiropractic work and PEMF therapy!

SIRE
MATERNAL BROTHER SOLD TO HARVEY TRACH

We decided to purchase some Fullblood semen to breed our Angus females. We felt it would be beneficial to lock in some white faces and add some frame. 4M’s mother is an extremely hard working young cow who keeps bringing her calves home the same size as her. She’s a fantastic milker in a moderate frame, making her cheap to feed when she brings home bull calves the same size, if not bigger than the larger cows! 4M has a high calving ease EPD and a moderate birthweight. We would feel comfortable putting him on younger females such as second calvers.

TY-D'S Cash 49M

49M is sired by our beloved Cash bull and out of a moderate Angus female. He’s bred to travel and work. His sire has the most incredible sound structure and set to his foot. The Cash babies grow and look fancy while doing it!

Ty-D Livestock

If you like a Fullblood style bull but black in colour, here’s your guy! He’s a docile and soggy type calf that will add some colour to his offspring. His mother is a deep-sided, stout, Sankey’s Justified bred cow. 8E daughters have made wonderful cows who really get the job done.

125M also carries a lot of qualities of a traditional Simmental, in solid black. He has the lightest birthweight of our offering, and we feel would make a good calving ease option. He’s long and smooth-made. His dam is a commercial Simmental cow sired by a bull we raised who’s a product of two of our best cow families. She’s a great cow who deserves to run with our purebreds. She carries a flawless udder and has proven herself a worth producer year after year. A granddaughter of hers is one of the best females in our replacement pen this year!

1K was a bull we sold to Ian McNinch, that we also cleaned up a few heifers with. He calved heifers beautifully and they grew like bad weeds. 60M is the youngest bull in our set but he’s kept up with the older bulls despite his pedigree being packed with calving ease!

TY-D'S Half Hitch 75K 275M

This is a bit of a different cross here. 275M is Simmental sired and his first calf mother is 3/4 Hereford, 1/4 Angus. She is a beautiful black brockle female. This guy’s pedigree is also packed with calving ease. His dam’s sire was a polled Hereford raised by Lock Farms that we ran on our commercial cows. The bull himself weighed 2800lbs and threw calves long as trains that calved like a dream. We feel 275M is a calving ease option given his background and his long body, smooth front, and small head. Also, who doesn’t love a baldy?! MATERNAL BROTHER SOLD TO IAN MCNINCH

showseason 2024

Our 2024 show season was another one for the books. We took out Ty-D/DAS CA$H 111K for his mature year - Cash was purchased in last year’s bull sale by Daren Cheze. We also took out Ty-D’s North Face 24L for his yearling year, Bitz Simmentals purchased half interest in 24L after we had to pull him from last year’s sale due to an injury that he thankfully fully healed from! The two heifer calves we trailed along with us was a SimAngus heifer, Ty-D’s Bugsy 508H 14M, and Ty-D’s Prickly Pear 27M. Dalyn, Hayley, and Lakelyn Borysiuk purchased half of 27M after seeing her success in the show ring, and we are really excited for this partnership moving forward!

The heifer calves and yearling bull topped their classes all fall and the mature bull, Cash, was extremely successful. Cash was Champion Simmental Bull at Olds Fall Classic and National Champion Simmental Bull at Farm Fair International. At Farm Fair he then made top 5 in the Supreme Show finishing off 3rd overall. Another huge accomplishment came making it into the Top 10 CN Beef Supreme Show at Canadian Western Agribition and also being awarded the Canadian Show Bull of the Year from the Canadian Simmental Association. It’s always an honour to raise and get ready Simmental cattle for the biggest shows in Canada and to come to the top end of these shows. For anyone who knows this breed and have seen these big Simmental shows, you know the quality and competition is extremely deepwhich is so exciting for the future of our breed!
