On behalf of everyone here at Spring Lake Simmentals, I would like to extend to you an invitation to attend our 6th annual sale at the farm in 2025. Whether you are local or have to travel any distance, we truly appreciate the time you are taking to attend or view our sale offering. We are very proud of the strong group of bulls that are in the offering this year and we feel that there is a bull here for everyone. Whether it be power or calving ease, or replacement strong genetic sires, they are here. If you want a little help or advice as to your needs in a bull, we are very happy to give some insight and advice. We practically live with them.
A bit of a twist this year is the offering of females in the sale. Our group of purebreds and the commercial females is a look into the girl side of what our herdbull battery can do on the other very important side of this business. The purebred heifers are a great cross section of our walking bulls that we are selling and the commercials are the same. Several of our long term customers are also adding to the offering with some top end replacement females from the heart of their replacement pens.
We have new, we have tried, tested and true, and we have females to top up anyone’s herd, and we are in a great cattle time. How many times over the last 20 years have you come from a sale hollering on your way out “Start the car, start the car”.
If you want some extra bang for your buck, I believe you will get it done here.
Welcome one and all to the 2025 Spring Lake “The Zimmer’s” bull sale and thank you for viewing our offering or coming to the sale.
Thank you,
Eric, Cristin and family

Spring Lake Simmental Bull Sale
Wednesday FEBRUARY 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM
ON THE FARM
Tillman, Ohtani, Malibu, Justify, Aztec, Southern Comfort and more can proudly boast large sire groups of sons included in the offering!
The Spring Lake Red Simmental bulls have earned a reputation of being known for their consistently dark color, or as coined by David Maguet of Rendezvous Farms, “Zimmer Purple”! In other words, they are their own unique shade of dark red, they’re almost purple! Color isn’t everything of course, so add to it the heavy haircoats they attain, the big hips and the responsible development included in these fluid moving bulls. I think this is the soundest set of Spring Lake bulls to date! This set of Red Simmi bulls are housed in a large pen, designed for movement opportunities and it shows. Come have a look.
The Fullblood Simmental bulls are probably the most uniform to date. They have great length, wide tops and are big hipped, plus the majority of them come with a bonus of a polled head! There’s not a lot of them, but you will still be able to make a good sized list.
The Black division fits the mold to the overall program. Great haired, good muscling, and several brothers included for consistency too. Options of solid black to baldy/blaze faces are available here. And like the red bulls, performance bulls, that still offer adequate calving ease rite to specific heifer friendly candidates exist in this fraternity too.
Adding to the day are registered heifers and some commercial SM X heifers from valued bull customers.
We know you will enjoy the friendly, family oriented day the Zimmer Families will provide at their home-hosted bull and heifer sale, make a point of checking this day on your calendar.
However, if you simply can’t attend, please don’t hesitate to call myself or any of our staff at Transcon Livestock to represent your absentee bidding requirements. This service has become highly trusted and complete confidence is guaranteed.
For the Zimmers, Jaymes E. (Jay)
Darren Paget
This Malibu son is the big boy in the pen with good reason. You have to get behind this guy to appreciate his thickness and hind quarter that exhibits the fact that he is plumb full of red meat. Check out this guy’s weaning and yearling weights. If you’re into a high performance and easy doing bull, that is structurally sound, then this Malibu son needs to be one that you consider.
Shohei 90M is a powerful son off of our ZSL Ohtani bull. He has tremendous muscle and mass while also being free moving and sound footed. This cherry red herd sire prospect combines two of the best breeding bulls ever raised here on the farm. His mother is a top end Red Alaska daughter that has the depth and thickness in her that was passed on to this exceptional son. This is a big time bull with big time potential.
ZSL MAMBA 138M
This homo polled son of Malibu out of a Sedona cow is a blood line combination that works out really well. ZSL Tige 103M truly follows his sires traits of being moderate framed and thick while maintaining structural soundness. They don’t come much deeper bodied with the spring of rib that this guy exhibits. Add in that terrific red hair coat and know that this is a bull that you will pick out if the pen on sale day.
Another Malibu son that is made to impress. As you look through the catalog and as sale day goes on, you’re going to begin to see just how good and consistent the Malibu sons are. Thick, deep and heavy quartered with excellent dark red hair coats are some of the qualities that are easy to find in his progeny. This guy is again out of a top end Sysco female that adds to just how good this herdsire prospect is.
158M
This is a dream pedigree if you’re looking to add to your replacement pen. It’s littered with bloodlines that have been instrumental throughout our entire herd. Riviera should help in your herd as well. He’s moderate framed, long bodied and the hair coat we aim to breed into them all.
Here’s a powerhouse Ohtani son who’s heavy quartered, wide topped and moves around the pen as smooth as it gets. He’s an easy doing, soft made bull that is sure to pass these traits along to his own calves. His mother is a heavy milking, moderate framed cow with an amazing temperament.
Another typical Ohtani son, he follows his sires traits of being moderate framed with enough thickness and eye appeal to make them a desirable sire group. We feel this bull has a lot to offer, you will not be disappointed with his future calf crop.
Another Malibu and Sysco cross bull calf that is stout made, square hipped and long bodied. This cherry red, good haired bull has a nice blend of maternal power, calving ease and performance all wrapped up in a very desirable package.
This is the youngest bull we have on offer this year. He’s a smaller framed Malibu son that has some extra rib and depth with a big hind quarter. He has a great hair coat and a solid, big foot under him.
This bull is well balanced and smooth made, with tremendous capacity, plenty of natural muscling and a great hair coat. His dam is a deep bodied, easy doing tank of a cow who has put multiple bulls into the sale. His sire ZSL Ozark 97K was a high selling bull for us in 2023 going to Gerard Bertholet of Maple Lake Stock Farms for $53,000. We only got 2 cows bred to him before he left and this is the bull of the two. We expect Ozark to do great things at Maple Lake this year and we ourselves will have a lot more next year from this great young sire. This is your chance to get in on an Ozark early.
Here’s a calf off of a first time heifer that weaned just shy of 1000lbs, the Epic daughters we have are going to be some of the bigger framed power cows in the herd and all have great udders. Ragnar is a hairy, long bodied calf that moves well and a great disposition.
This calf might be one of the most structurally sound bulls on offer. Lariat has exceptional length, spring of rib and moves like a cat. He’s as dark red as they come. His mother is a fancy, attractive cow with a great udder and a really nice disposition.
ZSL BENELLI 125M
Orion is a bull that needs to be seen in person to appreciate what he’ll bring to the table. He is one of the thickest, stoutest bulls in the pen with a great disposition. He is backed by a top end R Plus granddaughter that has several times weaned calves over 1000 pounds and put bulls at the front end of our sale.
125M is a herdsire prospect who is a long bodied and thick made bull displaying a lot of that same muscle and mass as his sire, ZSL Tillman. This guy moves out really well and also showcases great depth in his spring of rib with an added bonus of an exceptionally thick hair coat. This bull has as much potential as any that will be sold this spring to produce those top end steers and heifers.
If you like this guy’s colour, you should see his mother. She is one of the darkest red cows we have. Becker is a very eye appealing calf, with a wide top, smooth front end, good feet and an incredible hair coat. He’s been a favourite since day 1.
Jaguar is a bull that needs to be seen in person to really appreciate, he might be the smallest framed bull on offer but one of the most complete packages. He’s thick with a ton of middle and smooth in his stride. He would be great in a heifer pen.
Not too often can you get a weaning weight of 940 out of a heifer but Mayan’s mother did it with ease. She is a big powerful cow with good things to come if she can produce bulls like him. 45M is as thick as they come, moves easy and the hair coat and colour is what we try to add to every bull.
This calf is big footed, easy moving, thick, lots of hair, nice disposition with a smaller birth weight. 12M would work really well on a group of younger females. His mother is a smaller framed Missile daughter with a nice udder and gentle disposition.
Another really good NUG Malibu son that could be sent anywhere sight unseen. The consistency in these Malibu sons is something that every breeder tries to find a herdsire to produce. Once again, like his sire, he is thick, deep bodied and wide topped with a beautiful cherry red hair coat made to get him through any Alberta winter storm in comfort. Another Sysco female on the bottom side of his pedigree. Bingo.
ZSL Moomba 94M is a Malibu son that is featured in our promotional ads this season and for good reason. Like his sire, he is super deep and stout with an excellent dark red hair coat, making him a very attractive herd sire type of bull. The bottom side of his pedigree shows two of our top bulls ever used here, Sysco and Warden. He is bred to be this good.
Atlantas Grand Dam is the mother of Ohtani so there is some big time power in this cow family. His mother is a big framed Tundra cow with a great udder and good feet. He’s a bull that will be noticed for his extra length, depth of flank and full body capacity. Atlanta exemplifies a lot of the same characteristics as his sire with a massive hip, extra rib and that easy doing ability on a mid sized frame.
Performance, length, thickness and depth, all in a well-built package with a hell of a hair coat. 20M is hard to punch any holes in. He is a soggy made and wide topped bull that will crank out those scale crunching steer calves. All of the goodness and performance in this herd sire prospect started out with an 87 pound birth weight.
There is a strong cow family behind this stout made, square, long bodied bull. He has a nice blend of maternal power and performance all wrapped in a thick coat of hair.
Here’s a bull that is not to be underestimated. He may not be one of the heavyweights in the pen but he darn sure is thick enough and sound enough structured to make him a bull that will impress his new owner for years to come. Besides all this, the bottom side of his pedigree contains many of the most productive females that we’ve ever had in our herd.
ZSL CHAPARRAL 115M
Here’s a heifer bull candidate that we’re pretty impressed with. These Southern Comfort calves can start off small but quickly catch the higher birthweight calves. Maxim is about as smooth on the front end as they come with great feet and a hair coat you want them all to have. His Mandako mother has been the pen pet since she was a calf and passed that temperament on to this guy.
This is likely one of the top red bulls to sell in the sale this year. We just can’t say enough about this amazing powerhouse. Dark purple red, long bodied, exceptionally thick butted, wide topped with a ton of depth. He looks the part of a herd bull from every angle. The mother of this bull is no slouch either as she would rank in the top 10 of our red cows. She’s awfully hard to fault. Give Chaparral a good look in our sale lineup.
This stout, square Kaiwi calf will have a lot of potential, he’s long bodied, well balanced and correct in his structure. His dam is a nice uddered easy fleshing Sysco cow that gets the attention of anyone who’s toured our pastures.
A ripping good moderate framed, soft sided and easy doing red baldy that could be a herdsire candidate to put with your best cows. He will mature into a very impressive bull. Again, picture a ring full of steers that resemble this guy’s body type and you will surely fetch one of the top steer prices of the day. Also we can’t say enough about how good a job the Sysco females are doing in our herd. And this bull is more of the proof.
Last year, several of our high selling bulls were Tillman sons and several of the reasons why can be seen in ZSL Mirage 139M. Like the Tillman last year, he is a solid made individual that is long bodied, deep ribbed, good footed and has a big set of nuts. His High Roller mother is one of those cows that is noticed in the pasture because of her profile, thickness and square udder. 139M is a herdsire prospect that you will want to find on sale day.
A very useful son of Ohtani that is big barrelled and thick made while keeping a sharp profile that is sure to help both steer and heifer calves get picked out at the market. His Red Odyssey mother is a trouble free, moderate framed, thick made cow that every year brings in a top end calf. This pedigree is filled with some of the darkest red bulls we’ve used over the years and that colour should carry on with Gentry.
Meteor is well balanced, smooth from front to back, lots of middle with plenty of muscling. His mother has the foot and udder you want on the dam of your herd bull
Here’s a Tillman bull that gets me excited every time I look at him when walking through the bull pen. If the baldy look is what you are after, this moderate framed and super stout prospect has to catch your attention. He is a thick, dark red and hairy bull calf with a big set of nuts and quiet disposition. His Odyssey mother is one of the top end old cows in the herd that has produced many bull calves at the top of our sale.
This guy’s DNA sample was damaged during testing so it’s unclear if he’s homo polled at this time. Regardless of that he’s still a heck of a bull, long bodied, smooth in the front and lots of middle. His Sysco mother has been an impressive powerful female from a young age.
There isn’t many of these Kaiwi calves, however the bulls we got are going to be very useful herdsires, 204M has a really nice disposition, tons of hair and is really smooth in the front shoulders. He would be a good candidate for a group of young cows.
ZSL UNION 68M
These Malibu sons sure have that extra rib which translates into superior length and more pay weight when selling your calves. Be sure to get behind this guy to examine his wide top, square hip and big testicles. He’s a masculine bull with herd sire written all over him.
68M is a really sharp profiled calf who is thick, deep ribbed, and heavy quartered. His mother is a Westcott daughter who has no shortage of milk and great udder, helping Union wean off at 1045lbs.
A popular red bull that commands your attention with his thick made profile and impressive body confirmation. He is a robust, deep ribbed and thick butted bull who should mature into a top end herd sire.
Here’s a heifers first calf out of one of our calving ease bulls whose performance didn’t stop after his 88 pound birth weight. He is a bull with a balanced set of numbers that would be a great fit on second calving females. We have been very pleased with the calving ease of his sire, AEDJ Cash, as they have come easily while still having the length and thickness to make them weigh up in the fall.
53M is a slightly more moderate framed Malibu son. This comes more from his mother, Miss Sysco 155G, as she is a beautiful young Sysco daughter that is also slightly smaller framed than most of the females in the herd. This meat machine is still plenty thick and deep bodied with great rib expression. Add in that thick, dark red, beautiful hair coat and you have an individual that will be certainly noticed. Supra is a bull that I would send anywhere, sight unseen, and expect a happy customer.
Montego has a presence about him, He’s a deep bodied, hairy, big hipped calf. His mother is a very good uddered, smaller framed Coberg daughter. It doesn’t take long to notice him in the pen, he’s the one that finds you as he’s the pet of the pen.
A stout made Southern Comfort bull who was born at 87 pounds yet will give you the performance we all seek while still giving you the calving ease advantage. He is wide topped, thick butted with a large set of testicles. He will mature into an impressive herd sire. An added bonus will be the replacement females with both Southern Comfort and Affinity in his pedigree. They are both female makers.
ZSL NAUTIQUE 49M
A powerful Malibu son out of a really good Boundary Astute female. He is thick made and long bodied with a pile of depth and performance that easily lets him weigh over 1400 pounds at a year of age. His pedigree has a little different twist for a red bull which may also add extra interest to this above average herd sire prospect.
This Coberg sired bull calf is a moderate framed and wide topped herd sire prospect. This bull is not designed to be one of the heavy weights but he is darn sure all there. I would recommend using this bull on some younger females as he will calve very well, while bringing you in some very performance oriented steers and heifers.
A black baldy homo polled Tillman son who is easy to pick out. That’s not just on account of his cool color scheme but his overall fleshing ability. Talk about a bull with exceptional capacity and rib. From head to tail he’s built like a tank. This bull is really thick made but moves like a cat. He’s the real deal.
If cow families mean anything to you this guy comes from a good one. The Red Alaska females are some of the easiest doing, nicest uddered cows we have. A moderate framed, thick made son of Ohtani who has really proven his consistency to sire the herd bull type of calves in a very short time. Marlo’s grand dam is the mother of ZSL Red Express, if you looked through the recent Rendezvous Farms dispersal catalogue you might have noticed that over a quarter of the red division had Red Express somewhere in the pedigree.
ZSL MARQUISS 84M
Culligan is a bull that is easy to recommend. His moderate frame carries a great thickness, a correct stride and a good disposition. The dam of this bull is a classy solid black female that is not one of the biggest in the herd but certainly one of the most complete and well bred.
You’ve heard me talk about bulls before that have the wow factor, this black baldy Ohtani son has it. Long, deep and stout with an excellent set of feet and legs make this bull a top end prospect. His mother is a good uddered Spring Creek Advance daughter with the thickness and depth of body that shows why this son of hers is so good. I’m not sure if Ohtani himself was any better than this bull when he was our high seller in 2022.
If you like them big, long, powerful and sound made with that extra thickness then Hennessy 183M is the bull for you. He’s a bull with a lot of grow where he pushed the scale down hard at weaning time and then posted a 1470 pound actual yearling weight almost a month before his first birthday. His Sysco mother is a solid black individual that is one of our best black cows. Add in the Black Canyon part of the pedigree and it’s easy to see why this bull calf is as good as he is.
Sonata has lots of volume, rib, length and a great coat of hair. He’s loose hided, smooth and stylish. His mother is a big framed Red Chill cow with a history of producing good stout bull calves.
An outstanding homo polled solid black son of Tillman with curve bending weaning and yearling weights starting from a very acceptable birth weight. He is a very well balanced, stout bull that will be
Another easy to like black blazed face bull sired by ZSL Tillman 127H. His style and thickness combined with that herd sire profile should make him a popular bull on sale day. Just picture a whole pen of steer calves that look like this guy and ring the bell at the auction market. Then keep as many of his females as your wife will let you and as they come into production you’ll know why I suggested it. They will be good.
ZSL Oreo 170M is a really stout made and thick son of Tillman with a color pattern that I can not explain. If that’s something that doesn’t bother you or even interests you, this guy is the real thing. They don’t come much stouter and sounder made than 170M. His mother is a solid black high performance cow with an udder second to none.
Adamas is truly a black baldy heifer bull prospect. We calve 70-80 heifers ourselves and would use this bull on any of them without hesitation. His sire, Roll On, was used strictly in the heifer pen and he was bulletproof. Even though this bull is as smooth as they come, he is still thick enough and has enough performance that he should pass on to his calves to make them extremely popular in the fall.
This is a big time, polled performance son of our B Bar C Justify herdsire. He is as thick, soggy and deep sided as any in our entire offering. This bull shows a ton of potential to be a top herdsire prospect in any herd. He grabs your attention when you walk in the pen as he has that herd bull presence about him. Add in a gentle disposition and one hell of a female that his mother is, and you will want to have this guy at the top of your list of bulls to check out this spring.
SBV Reputation has done a really nice job here in our heifer pen and 40M is proof of that. These calves start small and then take off. Bauer’s mother is a really nice payroll heifer with a perfect udder and has a good looking future in the fullblood herd.

SIBELLE SPARTACUS 8A
SIBELLE POL CROCUS 20D
S: VIRGINIA FULL-TILT 530J VIRGINIA RADISON 5Z
VIRGINIA CASSANDRA 530C BROCK YULE TIDE
ZSL Iridium is a blood red, moderate framed full Fleck heifer bull prospect that shows a ton of potential in the calving ease field. His mother was our top pick of the fullblood heifers sold in 2023 from MAVV Farms in Okotoks. She is so deep, thick and perfect uddered with an outcross pedigree that made her a great addition to our herd. Iridium is a bull that we would like to draw before he leaves here as we feel that he would be a huge asset to use on our own fullblood heifers.
This homo polled Justify son has all the qualities you look for in a herd bull. He’s long, deep bodied, moves well and coloured right. The Dempsey females are standouts in the fullblood pen, good feet and good udders with tons of milk.
58M
This is the second year of the Justify sired calves and they continue to impress. Great calving ease with incredible growth as Magnus weaned off over 1000lbs. His mother is a larger framed Spur daughter with strong maternal traits who seems to put a bull calf in the sale every year.
Here’s a big footed, easy moving, thick calf from B-C Justify. Lots of hair, a ton of depth, nice disposition with an average birth weight. 58M would work really well on a group of younger females. His mother is a mid-sized Big Rig daughter that was purchased from Diamond T. She has a perfect udder and like Pioneer, a great set of feet under her.
Dark red, heavy haired calf from a really nice uddered Raptor daughter. Mid-size frame, with lots of rib shape and thickness. A genetic combination here that should sire calves that are very consistent in their type.
A very sharp profiled Ruger son that is strong topped and deep quartered. His mother is a blood red Spur cow that is moderate framed, deep and pear shaped with a tidy udder and lots of milk.
Here’s a popular polled Justify son who gets a lot of attention when touring the bull pen. Rightfully so, he’s deep bodied, soggy, loose hided and sports a large set of nuts. His mother deserves a lot of credit for raising this type of a herd sire prospect at such a young age. Be sure to check him out on sale day.
A low birthweight bull that is very well balanced from a good young Dempsey cow. This bull will work really well on some younger cows by adding that extra milk and muscle to his offspring.
A Justify son out of a really nice, good uddered Ripcord cow. Every now and then we’ll try a fullblood bull on some red cows or vice versa. I’m happy we tried this combo as 160M turned out great. He has a deep frame and a table for a top. Nordic is a bull with a lot of potential. Soggy, stout made, and well balanced.
ZSL MS BETTS 19M
A typical Betts female that is thick, deep and hairy off of a momma cow that never misses. If you want a female that is soft sided and easy doing this Betts female will work for you.
A dark coloured Malibu heifer that’s easy keeping, soft made and feminine. The dam of this heifer is a moderate made cow with a very tidy udder and gentle disposition.
An easy fleshing Aztec female with great hair and style. If she turns out to be anything like her beautiful young mother, she will be one of the good ones.
A beautiful, blood red, Stratton female that will catch anyone’s eye that walks through the pen. The thickness and rib in this female while maintaining that beautiful feminine look will help her develop into a top end female.
Beautiful, big black baldy heifer that is thick, feminine and sure to be a bull producer. Along with a great set of EPDs she is as long and smooth made as they come while still being sharp featured and stylish. This is a female that should be popular on sale day.
A black Malibu female who should grab your attention on sale day. She is one that is not only deep and stout but extremely stylish. Being able to cross red and black cattle this way gives us that many more options in the genetic vault. This young lady should go on to have a very productive future in anyone’s herd.
If you like them moderate framed yet deep and powerful, here’s a heifer that will fit right into your program. Aztec was purchased out of the really good Rendezvous Simmental herd for $20,000 to work in our heifer pen and he has certainly done that. He works and so will this daughter of his.
A solid red Malibu female that is sure to be a good mother cow. She is an easy keeping, feminine type of female that will go on to raise some awesome calves. If this heifer is anything like her mother she will bring in top end calves for a lot of years.
A smooth and feminine heifer sired by NUG Malibu and mothered by a solid, deep sided female with a beautiful udder. These heifers have not been pampered prior to sale day, being on the same ration as the heifers that we are retaining. They are made to work under any condition.
We can’t say enough about the Justify calves, male and female, to tell you how pleased we’ve been with his progeny. This is our first year having milking females from him and we are more than happy with them. 80M will go on to be as good as any of them.
A Tillman heifer that is going to be popular on sale day with her blazed face, extra depth of rib and thickness. We are calving Tillman females now and every one of them exhibits that perfect udder that Tillman’s mother has.
A cherry red, white faced female that is very hard to fault. These are the type of full blood females we strive to produce. The Ruger females are easy keeping, feminine and raise top end calves.
COMMERCIAL HEIFERS
SPRING LAKE SIMMENTALS - ZIMMER
Spring Lake Simmentals is not in the habit of selling females, but in 2025 we decided it was time to part with a few. There’s really very little difference between the commercial heifers in our offering and our purebreds as they all come from the same herdsires. These 8 commercial heifers have every bit as much potential to go on to be great momma cows. If you’re looking for females on our sale day, the purebreds and commercials will be as solid a group of females as sold this spring. Buy with confidence.
COMMERCIAL HEIFERS
DARCY AND EMILY WOLD
We are very thankful to have the opportunity to include heifers into the sale. For over 10 years, we have been purchasing bulls from Spring Lake Simmentals. The game changing Sysco son, ZSL Mr Iron Man 86H, has taken our program to the next level. Iron Man has sired all the heifers we are offering.
We have selected 5 February born, hairy, deep red, and stout blaze heifers from the heart of our pen. Our herd is managed by Maverick Large Animal and each heifer was palpated. Greg, from Bullseye, oversees the TMR rations in mineral packs throughout the season.
For further inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact Darcy at 780-781-4443 or Cody Coupland with Transcon. We have a video of our whole heifer pen that we would love for you to see!

COMMERCIAL HEIFERS
COMMERCIAL HEIFERS
We have been using Spring Lake bulls since 2003 on our 250 beef cows. They have served us very well and we are very happy to be able to share our herd genetics today with commercial heifers in the 2025 Spring Lake sale.
We use Red Angus bulls on our heifers and Simmental bulls on our cows. Our herd is well vaccinated under direction of Stettler Vet Clinic. These heifers are on an oat and silage based TMR backgrounding program designed to grow them not over fatten them. These girls were born March 2024 and will be selected from the heifers we select for our own herd.
Contact Tom 403-740-4787 if you have any questions.
First of all, we would like to thank Spring Lake Simmentals for giving us the opportunity to be included in this outstanding sale.
For many years, we have been incorporating Spring Lake Simmental genetics into our herd. These 5 heifers exhibit excellent growth rates and will mature into strong productive females. They have been pail fed and are calm and easy to work with, on a full herd health program, vet palpated and ready to move forward into your breeding program. These heifers are a good opportunity to enhance your herd with some full blood genetics.

Bought with Bouchard Livestock to add his performance while maintaining above breed average calving ease and the super maternal characteristics that are in his pedigree. His mother is an elite cow in the McMillan herd and we wanted those genetics in ours.
Herdsire AIA AZTEC 408K
Aztec was the heifer bull that we saw in the Rendezvous catalogue in 2023 and we knew we had to own him. $20,000 later, we did. And he didn’t disappoint. Almost every one of his calves is born unassisted from heifers yet they are long enough and thick enough in the fall to impress. We don’t have any of his females in production yet but if they look anything like their Grandmother, they will be good.
Herdsire ZSL OHTANI
ZSL Ohtani 7J is one of the finest herdsires raised here at Spring Lake Simmentals. Sired by the great MRL Sysco we have just added one more piece to the puzzle in his mother ZSL 37C. With Big Time and Red Ice in his pedigree you have a bull making, female producing, genetic super star.
Herdsire B BAR C JUSTIFY 013H
B Bar C Justify 013H was purchased not only for his polled head but for the performance and muscle that he exhibits. This bull checks a lot of the boxes. Thick, easy doing, long bodied and sound made with a quiet temperament. All important qualities to us and he doesn’t keep them to himself. He passes all this good stuff on to his progeny.
Herdsire NUG MALIBU 325H
A rock solid mountain of a bull with as much middle and thickness as any top bull in the Simmental breed. We not only love the way this guy is put together, he does it on such a perfect foot with the extra heel that helps propel this guy around the pasture. Malibu calves really, really well and when the calves come home, there are no throw aways.
Thank you to all our bull buyers of 2024. We are grateful for your continued confidence and support. We look forward to seeing you at the sale.
