Page 1

Welcome

Welcome to our 2024 Online Red & Black Simmental Bull Sale. We are proud to offer a consistent group of 20 sound, functional red and black yearling bulls. Our program is based on utilizing top quality walking herd bulls to produce the best quality of cattle that we can. Building and maintaining a quality, attractive cow herd is always our goal, we cull heavy and the ones that don’t work for us are gone down the road.

Thank you to all of our past customers for supporting us along the way and for having confidence in us and our cattle. We enjoy displaying our cattle at local summer shows and pen shows and can’t say enough about the friendships we have developed among both commercial and purebred producers.

The cattle business is experiencing record prices on all classes of cattle in recent years, which is great to see, let the good times roll, folks are finally getting paid for something that they are so passionate about.

We encourage you and welcome you to tour our bull pen and cowherd before the sale by appointment please. We would be interested to discuss your needs in your next herd bull purchase. Get your bull buying done early as they will cost more the longer you wait.

Coffee and Flying S hospitality is always on at the ranch.

Taylor Richards of Bohrson Marketing has been through our bull pen several times so feel free to reach out to him if you need.

Pictures and videos of the bulls were taken on November 3.

Thank you to Tiffany at 14 West Creations for designing our catalogue and making it the best it could possibly be.

See ya online on December 14 & 15!

WELCOME FROM BOHRSON MARKETING

It is our pleasure to be working with Ken and Shauna of Sinclair’s Flying S Ranch on their new venture into marketing their bulls. Although this is their first year selling their product through DLMS Farmgate in a timed auction format, they have been doing private treaty bull sales for many years. This mid-December opportunity gives you a chance to get your bull shopping done early before the busy rush of spring sale season. These bulls are developed responsibly and are guaranteed to be in perfect working rig come 2025 when you need them to turn out. Ken and Shauna have done a great job building a cowherd that is low maintenance and highly productive. You will see the 20 herd bull candidates on offer represent 4 main sire groups. This gives you a chance to pick away at many 1/2 3/4 and even full siblings in blood options to breed some consistency into your next calf crop. Be sure to give Ken or Shauna a shout to visit about their bulls and their program.

They would be happy to talk shop and assist in pointing you in the right direction for what bulls will best suit your needs. We encourage you to make plans to tour through the bull pen anytime before sale day. If you are unable to get through the bulls and have any question regarding them or the Flying S Ranch program, please do not hesitate to give us a call, we would be happy to assist.

Best regards,

S BLACK Game Changer

Game Changer has been at the front of the pack since day one. Our heaviest bull at weaning. Very clean fronted and long bodied. He was a member of our pen of three bulls at Edam Fall Fair where he was noticed and admired. He will add pounds to your calf crop and his quiet nature is a bonus as well. A full sister is one of the highlights of our bred heifer pen.

Messier is a very eye appealing, power packed bull. A calving ease bull that will produce heavy weight steers and top notch females that you will not want to part with. His excellent second calving dam is sired by none other than Lazycreek Wideopen 19B, our black herdsire for many years that produced many great females that now headline our black division.

Maverick really pounded the scale down at weaning time. Born unassisted, his 1600 lbs dam did an excellent job raising one of our top black bulls. In spite of his larger birthweight I would still consider this guy is a calving ease bull due to his smaller head, beautiful neck extension and length of body. He will produce heavyweight calves that will top the market in the black exotic pens. His picture doesn’t really do him justice, he has been a favorite of many visitors.

Black Knight is a smooth made bull with a great haircoat. He was in our pen of three bulls at Edam Fall Fair. He is a full brother in blood to Lot 3, as their dams are full sisters. This pair of brothers would work well together if you need multiple bulls that will produce quality and consistency in your next calf crop.

Mandan is a light birthweight bull with a good frame to wean off those extra pounds. His easy keeping dam is another daughter of the Lazycreek Wideopen bull that worked so well for us. She raised our top black baldy bull last year and this guy is shaping up to be the same.

Magic is a bull with some size and frame to him. His Muirheads Three Sixty dam has excellent feet and has always raised a top bull or replacement heifer for us. This guy will add value to your next calf crop. Would work well on British based cow herd. Magic has an attractive white snip that his picture does not show.

Max is a super smooth bull with lots of middle to him and a very moderate birthweight. His dam has put several top bulls into some good commercial herds and has two daughters in production in our herd, one of them being the dam of Lot 1. She also has my favorite in the bred heifer pen this year. 70M will produce eye appealing calves that will put $ in your pocket.

McCoy is one of our top performing bulls. His larger frame and extra length of body will be sure to add pounds to his calves. He comes from a cow family with near perfect udders so I would be keeping his daughters as well.

Monroe is a very moderate bull with lots of meat and muscle. His sire was our top performing bulls in 2020 and we used him for several years and were very impressed with his calves. We calved out his first daughters this year and they have very nice udders with lots of milk. Monroe is very quiet, has lots of hair and has a little chrome to boot.

Memphis is one of the first bulls to catch your eye when you walk into our bull pen. His small head and overall presence makes you take a second look. His beautiful dam would be one of the all time favorites and most productive cows around here, putting bulls in some top commercial herds as well as several daughters working in our herd including the dam of Lot 17. This guy will sire money making steers and you will want to keep his daughters for the replacement heifer pen.

McGyver is a very smooth made, eye appealing bull with great hair. His dam has done a great job on her first three calves, including an excellent Gold Key daughter and last years bull was one of the first selections out of our bull pen. If you want to add some performance and style to your cattle this is the bull for you.

Maddox is the last bull out of the FLY 58H sire group. His grand dam was one of the original cows we purchased from Diamond J Simmentals 15 years ago and she produced many great progeny for us over the years. This very moderate bull is very similar in style, makeup and markings as Lot 10 and these two bulls would work very well together to add quality and consistency to your cowherd.

Lot 14

FLYIN S RED Macho Man 28M

SVS TYCOON 841F

sire GVR MR 5J

RUST MISS PEPPA 709E

Macho Man got his name for a good reason, he is definitely the power bull in our red group. Quiet, soggy and hairy best describes this bull. His dam was a purchased from Perlinger Simmentals and comes from one of their best and longest standing cow families and if you know Clarence, you have heard him talk about 14R! It is quite rare to find such a light birthweight bull with so much performance. He will certainly put some pop in your next crop of calves.

FLYIN S BLACK CREEK 70F

dam FLYIN S RED CIARA 16H

MWP CLARA’S ZELDA 1Z

Maple is sired by our Green Valley Ranch son of the great Tycoon. GVR 5J walks the pastures here and did an outstanding on his first calf crop. We got a much higher number of heifers than bulls this year but expect more of these top bulls next year as we used him quite heavy. Maple’s dam is one of our most attractive cows with a perfectly square shaped udder. Use this guy to add performance as he is no slouch on weigh day.

Lot 16 FLYIN S Red Maven 27M

SVS TYCOON 841F

sire GVR MR 5J

RUST MISS PEPPA 709E

Maven is a dark red smooth made, calving ease bull that is the youngest in the pen. His beautiful dam is sired by the Come As U R Red Rocket son that we purchased from Grant Lodge Farms. With Tycoon and Red Rocket in his pedigree you know he is going to be good. Keep an eye on this guy, due to his younger birthdate, he could be the sleeper of the sale.

GRANTS GROUND ZERO 12D

dam FLYIN S RED REBA 27F

PEARL RED RUNNER 270Z

Milo had just a 73 lbs birthweight and would be a great candidate for the heifer pen. His first calving dam did a great job on her first try and she belongs to our highly productive Image cow family. You will sleep easy knowing your heifers are bred to this guy.

Mystery is a compact baldy bull that is sired by BNS Mr Limitless 47K who is a bull we purchased from Siroski’s to use in our heifer pen. His calves have some growth and style to them. If you like some chrome on your cattle this guy will work for you.

Easy Money was the third bull in our pen of 3 at Edam Fall Fair, where he was noticed by many for his exceptional hair coat, which is one of the things we strive for in our cattle as there are many days they need it when you reside in northern Saskatchewan. This guy continues to keep pace with some of the front runners of our pen, which says a lot being he is out of a first calver, who has a bright future ahead of her. This top bull is the last one in our catalogue but we may have saved the best for last!
