The GOLD Path Learning Community is CCBC’s most accelerated learning community, running during the College’s 7-week fall and spring terms.

Learning Communities @ CCBC WHAT ARE LEARNING COMMUNITIES? Learning communities create connections. CCBC’s learning communities bring students together. As a learning community student, you will work with the same group of students across several classes.

CCBC’s learning communities also bring faculty together. Learning community faculty work closely to create common assignments and learning experiences. They know each other and they know you.

WHY SHOULD I REGISTER FOR A LEARNING COMMUNITY? Research shows that students who participate in learning communities are more successful than those who don’t. There is no extra charge to register for a learning community, but there are lots of extra benefits. As a learning community student you will enjoy: • • • • • •

Group registration between fall and spring semesters The ability to register for credit-bearing classes while taking PREP courses Common assignments that meet the requirements of multiple classes Events and services designed specifically for you (including coffee service!)

WHO SHOULD REGISTER? If you qualify for Integrated Reading and Writing (IRW) and College Success Strategies, you should register for a CCBC Learning Community! CCBC’s learning communities will provide you with a quick start and early entrance into program-specific courses.

HOW DO I REGISTER? See a counselor. To schedule an appointment contact 724-480-3421 or email counselingoffice@ccbc.edu. The counseling office is open Monday-Thursday 8AM-7PM and Friday 8AM-4:30PM.
