Titan top story: WELCOME TO CAMPUS!
WHAT TO DO AND NOT TO DO AROUND A SERVICE ANIMAL. Service Animals are dogs (or sometimes miniature horses) trained to do work or tasks for people with disabilities. Tasks may include guiding a person with limited vision, alerting a person who has limited hearing, protecting a person with a medical condition, or calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. What should you do if you see a person with a service dog on the CCBC campus? •
Smile and speak with the service dog’s handler like you would any other person on campus.
•
Do not pet or distract the Service Dog or try to call it by name.
•
It’s fine to ignore the Service Dog entirely and just speak with the person.
Policy on Nondiscrimination Community College of Beaver County does not discriminate in admission or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, veteran’s status, age, or national origin. Inquiries may be directed to CCBC’s Title IX Coordinator, VP Human Resources, One Campus Drive, Monaca, PA 15061, 724-480-3379 or Section 504 Coordinator, Vice President -Student Affairs and Enrollment, One Campus Drive, Monaca PA, 15061, 724-480-3423.
